I rang to make an appointment for my 6 monthly scan after having cancer. They asked me to wear a mask and when I told them that I have a medical exemption and I can’t wear a mask. the receptionist said that she will call me back. After 2 hours I called them back and when I told the receptionist my name she was rude and she said that I have to get an exemption letter, I advised her again that I have a medical exception and have one from my gp. she put me on hold, came back to me and said I would need a mask and that’s their policy and that she would not make an appointment unless I agreed to wear a mask. This is complete discrimination and I need to do my scan to ensure the cancer has not returned, this is more important than your policies that discriminate against my health issue that prevent me from wearing a mask. Absolutely ridiculous. I ended up having to go to another company for my scan.

Had an endoscopy done last Friday. The entire process was seamless and easy. I even received a follow up call after the procedure to ensure that everything is okay with me. Thanks to all the staff in the endoscopy unit at the MUH for your courtesy and professionalism.
I had a procedure there recently. I was very impressed by the quality of care received. The staff were attentive and friendly.
Very Poor experience with the hospital. My mum Operation was scheduled at 11am and it was delayed until 1pm and She has been fasting since 5am, when asked the receptionist they are rude and advised they are aware she is waiting but no explanation and no time was giving. Also we were supposed to received a phone call on Friday to let us know the operation time , we have to call and follow up and advised by the receptionist they will call back and we waiting until 5pm still no one call and the operation was on Monday. We have to call back again before 5pm to followed up. Very poor organisation and bad customer service . Will not come back for second time
Nurses Jessinta ,Raynna , SALLY ️ Tiffany Jill Fisher ,Mohammad,Emily ,Hanna physiotherapist, just simply amazing care for patient. Thank you
The hospital is always short of supplies. When we asked for additional wipes as we were running out of it, the nurse advised us to get it from Big W. The duty nurse said that they don't have any wipes left and the hospital only restocks weekly and the next restock is after a week. As she advised, we purchased wipes from a store outside the hospital. This is not an acceptable response from a hospital staff to a patient. I am very disappointed with this.
My infant son and wife were refused urgent medical assistance by doctors on Tuesday 24th November at 5.53pm on level 3 at the medical clinic part of the Macquarie University Hospital. My son was limp and unresponsive after losing a considerable amount of blood from his mouth which had occurred across the road from the hospital. They were referred by the receptionist to another medical facility nearby as the clinic was in the process of closing for the day and after she had checked with the doctors on duty. My wife then ran carrying our 16 month year old baby boy 2 kilometres to the nearest medical centre to receive help for our son. I cannot even begin to understand how this can be acceptable medical practice or minimal duty of care for a hospital, clinic or medical centre. At the very least my son’s condition should have been evaluated and assessed immediately for an ambulance to be called if he was in danger and was a life threatening condition. We then made an official complaint with the head of the department later that evening after my son’s condition was treated at another facility but we have had no response or explanation from the hospital regarding how this has been allowed to happen. As a result it is our understanding that the management does not take these matters seriously and the medical board is unaware of the gross medical negligence and misconduct that is taking place within the organisation. Subsequently I would not recommend using this facility for any major health concern as staff are not interested in providing the most basic of care and the doctor(s) refusing to assist my wife and son be stood down as these individuals ultimately are a disgrace and the poorest possible example of the medical profession.
