Just recently spent a few nights on board a Luxury Afloat house boat and I have to say the word 'Luxury' should not be in the name. As a family we were so excited for our first houseboat experience, we had this trip booked months in advance but unfortunately our experience on this particular boat was disappointing to say the least. Apon arrival to the office we were treated with disrespect. The lady we spoke to was very rude and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Then we hop on board the boat to discover that it is in fact NOT professionally cleaned like they say it is. ALL our dishes were filthy and needed to be re washed, the rubbish bin had brown liquid in the bottom of it, the bathroom stinks of mould as does the downstairs beds and also underneath the couch cushions there was dirt galore. The sliding doors were impossible to open, you just about pop a shoulder out trying to get them open. The entire boat is old and outdated and desperately needs a complete make over. The boat that we were on had a flat battery every morning so we were stuck until the sun charged it up again. Not ideal if we had to move in case of an emergency. All in all we had a fantastic time out on the water and it's a real shame the accommodation couldn't live up to its name.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND Luxury Afloat as a house boat hire company. We (3 adults and 2 young children) recently spent 6 nights aboard one of Luxury Afloat’s boats, and they certainly do not live up to their name. Having been on a houseboat before (with a different company) we were really excited for our holiday and all in good spirits, however from the moment we arrived the staff/owners were rude and made us feel nothing more than an inconvenience. Not the best start after having paid a lot of money upfront for the boat hire. Apparently the owners have been trying to sell the company for a fair few years and it really shows in the way they operate that they no longer have any interest in the business or the guests they host, which is such a shame as the holiday itself (being on a houseboat) is such a wonderful experience. The boat is supposedly professionally cleaned after each use but under the couches and under each of the beds were filthy. Especially the double beds underneath, beneath the mattress stunk and was definitely not cleaned after the last guests or most probably even the ones before that and before that also. All in all we had a great holiday on the water but we were very disappointed with our experience with Luxury Afloat, from their initial communication to their last we did not feel welcomed at all and will definitely not be using them or recommending them to anyone in the future.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY - Opposite to 5 star luxury!! The word 'luxury' should not be used in this business name or in the description on their website. It is ANYTHING BUT luxury!! Carpet on the rooftop deck was ripped and large sections missing. This was due to it being old and rotten. Screens were a joke - 2 windows all round were screened which meant you had to have ALL of them shut all day if moored because of the sand flies and mozzies. The screen in the kitchen section was so old it was shredded. Griller on the stove was out of use. Manager said it was due to changed regulations that came in this year but it was so old it probably didn't work anyway. The TV didn't work he said due to 'out of range' but why say there is one. If it worked it probably only needed an antenna anyway. The sliding door was very hard to slide open and the manager said it was supposed to be like that. It wasn't - the small slider wheels on the bottom were missing so it was metal on metal. There was a large hole in the cork ceiling tile. It was infested with small cockroaches. My daughter went to the toilet in the night and they were running over our toothbrushes. The bed in the bedroom near the kitchen had an old mattress that felt like it had broken springs all down one side. On the first night a noise started. It was continual all through the day and night. It came in 10 seconds intervals like a noisy fan starting and stopping. So instead of having a peaceful night's sleep on the water, we were kept awake all night from a loud whirring fan. It was tracked to the battery inverter. We called the manager who said he may get another one for us. 2 days with this noise and we were ready to call it quits in our 'luxury' houseboat holiday when he finally came and changed it over. If I could give this business 0 stars I would. I have pictures and video to prove it.

Nice area but way over priced for the hire if you only have a couple of people.
