Best location to be at. We spotted a huge deal with it's baby. We went there at sunset time and the view was awesome. Recommended time to visit will be at sunny day and mostly at sunset the view is worth watching. 5 star for this place. Most recommended place to sea walk on the bridge. Lots of coral and fish spot from the bridge.also good place for fishing. The cafe food is delicious. If you are seafood lover then you should definitely visit this place. The location and ambience of the cafe is the perfect.

A nice place for a walk with the option to see seals at certain times of the day if you're lucky! Quite a few fisherman here, with a few lifeboats and ladders for those jumping into the sea on a hot day! Dogs are welcome along the pier and in general its a nice brief walk when in Lorne.
Lorne Pier is easily my favourite place to visit in Lorne. The views are absolutely stunning looking across to Aireys Inlet, the town of Lorne across Louttit Bay and back across the beach in both directions. The pier has a lovely peaceful atmosphere on most days but is also a happy place to be when busy. The highlight for me is when any of the seals are close by. They are so fabulous to watch even if the fishermen don’t like them stealing the fish they’re trying to catch. I’d definitely recommend a visit to anyone whether they are passing through or staying locally for a holiday.
Great accessible spot to view Lorne township and the ocean. Watch the swell roll in below you or drop a line to try your luck fishing. There are lifebouys and ladders if you happen to jump in on a hot day. The pier is not suitable for vessels to come alongside.
Lorne Pier dates back to the 1880s and is well known for the Pier To Pub Swim, every January. It has two levels, the bottom popular with fishers and the top to stroll/sit along. I spent an hour thee, which included lunch - so how long you can stay will vary on what you do. During 2020, the pier was given a facelift - a curvy form, unlike the tradition ‘L’ shaped found elsewhere. A windy place, with a strong seaweed smell, but fun to walk along and under when the tide is out. Plenty of birdlife and the occasional seal can be seen here, making photography in the area popular. Next to the pier is the stalwart venue, Lorne Pier Seafood Restaurant, popular especially with tour groups and families. There is plenty of parking space, but be wary of the insect called 'Thrips' - they don't bite but get in everywhere - clothes, car etc.
awesome place while Drive Great ocean drive , don't miss this place .
Terrific to get out from the shore above the water. Good views shoreward and across to the Aireys lighthouse. Fisher people are here most days.
Wind pulled swiftly across from the east as we set foot on those grey beams, salt carried on the wind was accepted gratefully into our lungs. The turbulent waters seemed to reflect our souls and the pier was merely a moment of pure euphoria. Life we can only imagine and glimpse as fishers extract their resolve is pulled past in the tides we could call society. Those that stand wither in the strenth of progress or are removed by the 'god' or as we can see the simple fishers. The pure beauty is one of lasting impact and imprints remain. Overall recommended.
