Beautiful buildings but my the streets and buildings shop doorways need cleaning gutters full of weeds

Bought a property in this council. Wanted to move here and had 500,000 to invest in starting a business after building.Tried to get planning permission it took 8 months and nothing happened. Was told by council staff if i dont like it sell and go somewhere else. Sold my property bought near mudgee. In 6 months have my house built and have started my business and going great. Thanks for the advise. If investing in something stay away from this area this is probably why the whole area has been held back compaired to areas around it. This maybe why the place is so run down and so many closed businesses. Anyways thanks for the advise im going great now.
Rude and unhelpful customer service. Customer service hangs up phone if you ask to speak to manager as service rep doesnt understand what you want. Maybe hiring customer service people that can serve would be a good option no wonder our town and area are the worst compared to neighbouring councils. Higher rates and worse service. Maybe its just the nowhere attitude of lithgow council that ruins our town. Disappointing.

Lithgow City Council have done an amazing job ensuring that there are a fabulous range public facilities for residents and visitors to use. Side streets are in definite need of repair, so be careful if riding your bike, skateboard or scooter, as the pot holes (often hidden by over filled pot holes) could cause accidents and injuries. There is also an unusually large amount of small rocks on roads and near gutters that could also cause damage to cars, riders and pedestrians alike.
Lithgow is a great place to live and the council is always considerate and helpful. They have some great people doing great work for our community
Experienced terrible customer service from "Emily" at Lithgow City Council, simply put if you can't help or are going to be of no help to a customer then dont bother answering the phone...No customer on the phone should hear "if you have got nothing else for me - then I am going to hang this phone call up". In all the time I have been dealing with Lithgow Council, I have never come across anyone as rude, arrogant and impolite as Emily. Lithgow City Council, maybe it is time you re-train and re-coach Emily in customer service, if I wanted to be spoken to in such bad manner I would go to a McDonalds and get the same service.
Council gives out personal information to persons trying to buy my property. The people turned up at my property in sydney trying to buy property in lithgo council saying they know someone within lithgo council. Once I told them I'm not interested in selling council has persued me continuously including sending police to property to harass person trying to fix up the property. All the properties around mine seem not to have to meet the same regulations around mine. If i call the council to discuss any problems they reply "Well if you don't like it sell your property". I have tried to contact gereral manager direstly and by phone about this matter on many occasions but with no reply. Avoid this council at all costs as they are up to no good and now I'm having to try and rectify this. They not a helpful council. Avoid them they are worst council i have had to ever deal with. Also the continual harassment whilst i have a custody battle they know of really isn't helping my stress levels if your thinking of buying here don't.
