Forgot to get a blood pressure medication prescription renewed and asked if it was possible to bring a script in the following day after I saw a doctor. The female pharmacist was confused at first by my request and I re-worded my request and added that the medication was for blood pressure and that I had been on it for at least three years. She then said sternly - first I need check your details and then went to a computer and took maybe 30 sec to a minute and seemed to be scrolling through my "details" which I guess is my name and years of the same medications with no abuse potential. I've been a customer of Blooms for many, many years and the 2 or 3 times that this happened in the past I saw the male pharmacist and he allowed me to drop the renewed prescription the next with zero fuss or embarrassment to me. The female pharmacist finished looking at my details and told me that for today only they would sell me my necessary medication, and because of Covid restrictions I would not be required to get a prescription this time - she also added that they would do it this time without a script but in the future they would not be doing it for me. It was busy, several staff her, a couple of customers had the potential to hear it. Up until yesterday I thought she was an assistant or sales staff and she has always been polite. Yesterday she was unnecessarily rude and was making it appear to anyone listening that I was a drug abuser or after drugs of abuse - I wanted blood pressure medication that I need. I don't want to chance dealing with her, she has zero social skills as a pharmacist. I will be using the Wallerawang pharmacy from now on because they treat me with dignity

Usually would have great things to say but unfortunately recent service was very poor, so poor that I will never shop with Blooms again. Tried returning a pair of faulty flight socks purchased at Bathurst with my receipt, only purchased one week ago. They flat out refused to assist me as they were purchased in Bathurst, even though I would have even been happy with an exchange! I checked their website and it very clearly states you can return an in store purchase to ANY Blooms Chemist with your receipt. I called head office where Rachel, the Business Development manager who overlooks the Lithgow store, was helpful & apologetic and organised for the store to process my refund. I returned to store to see the manager for my refund where I received no apology whatsoever despite the distress the situation had caused me on an already challenging day. The only other positive was the one and only staff person who offered me any kind of empathy when I became upset and a little shaky. Thank you to that person. So I've gone from being a regular Lithgow customer who would have happily taken an exchange and continued to shop with them to now never shopping with Blooms again because I had to jump through hoops to receive fair customer service. Incredibly poor customer service at the Lithgow store, particularly from the manager. Very disappointing and the worst service I have ever experienced.

Was told by a Blooms the Chemist employee that our 1 year old daughter could have her ears pierced and arranged to have them done the following week only to turn up and be told by another blooms employee that they don't do children that young. Need to keep there employees updated on there own policies. Wasted trip.

Meltdown By Kyle

Once again people with Mental Health issues are treated completely differently to everyone else. The pharmacist was incredibly rude even though he knew I was in distress, the reason I am commenting on this is that is has to stop, treat me the same as you would anyone else. His actual words were “well you’re not here for blood pressure medication”. It’s disgustingly prevalent in Lithgow.

Seems like the biggest and busiest chemist in Lithgow. It seemed also to be the only one offering flu vaccines and the service I got with this was very good and well-priced. Very happy to recommend.
