Long wait in ED reveals a lack in health funding but when we finally got seen we were lucky to get a doctor with the right background to be an absolute godsend. Professional, knew her stuff and very courteous and kind

parking is great food is great and the dr's are always up for a good ole chat
My name is Anne Mayne. Terrible experience for my daughter Abbey who was asking for help. Presenting to ED several times, only to be sent home. She suffered pain and discomfort between visits. When she was finally admitted with a diagnosis of Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Abbey was receiving chemo, which was shrinking the mass on her lymph node. The problem being where Abbey was operated on. Inserting a pic line in her jugular vein. This line was supposed to feed her and be able to take blood. This line caused a clot and wouldn't draw blood. This line was left in regardless. The clot became infected and she also got sepsis of the blood. These infections became so bad that no antibiotics would touch it. The clot became so big that blood could not pass through. My baby girl had just turned 21 on the 14th of March. Admitted to the hospital on the 22nd March. Suffered terribly throughout. Staff were rude and put alot of extra stress on Abbey and her family members. Abbey passed away on the 28th April. Staff and doctors did not tell Abbey or her parents exactly what was happening to her. Except for a beautiful angel of a doctor explained everything. Dr Ellie thankyou for your honesty and empathy. I would never recommend anyone go to that place.
Most useless bunch of people I have ever met . Living 2 hrs away with no mental health help in my local town and get told to come to lismore over the phone sit around for 6 hrs to just be told they can’t help me because I’m not local enough..... even though I was willing to make the trips needed ...
I was very impressed by Lismore Base Hospital staff today, they are professionals. Thankyou .
Why is this hospital under-funded & under-resourced? Oh, that's right, because it's a hospital in Northern New South Wales; not a hospital in Western Sydney. Let me guess, the funding for this hospital has been re-directed into building 3 new stadiums in Sydney for 80 minute cuddle piles for Sydneysiders? Don't forget the money set-aside to be WASTED on moving a museum in Sydney 8kms west to Parramatta. The New South Wales Government thinks dumping money into Western Sydney is "helping the people of regional New South Wales." It's about time Macquarie Street started looking to its borders that end beyond the Hawkesbury & Nepean Rivers.
The staff were excellent.
My friend had a miscarriage and they made us wait 5hrs!
