It was a great experience donating blood here. Whole process is hassle free, starting from scheduling appointments to donating blood. Staffs there are kind and helpful, they will clarify everything related to your donation. Donation process was also smooth. There is a pantry area for refreshment with wide variety of snacks.

Uber friendly staff and nurses, very clean environment and incredibly well managed establishment! There is free parking available to you for saving people's lives (to get free parking call them and ask at reception) and heaps of yummy stuff to recharge after your donation so you can easily get on with your day. Donated my first 750 ml of plasma today after a few years of giving blood twice a year AND IT FELT GREAT. I used to faint on sight of blood and this place has turned me into a regular donor! Go do it now, it'll feel INCREDIBLE and you'll see some vampires in action (true story)...
Went in yesterday for my first donation in years. The whole process took 2.5 hours!! I had an appointment but sat around waiting for over an hour before even being seen by one of the nurses. While waiting I saw multiple people leave without donating as they just couldn’t wait that long. It’s really unacceptable- people are volunteering their time and blood, the least the centre could do is manage their appointment times appropriately. It’s a great cause, but unfortunately I won’t be donating again.
Terrible time management at the Melbourne centre. Every time it’s delayed by a min of 45 mins and they just don’t seem to care. People are donating their time to come in and give blood, you’d think they’d honour that by being prompt. I’ll never donate there again, I’ll be going to a different centre.
The best cafe in the CBD. Staff are wonderful. Pay them a visit.
Of course you can’t fault the brilliant work that these guys do overall. They save lives, and it’s highly appreciated and respected. Just my experience was a little disappointing. I was refused treatment because I had my 5 year old son with me. They wouldn’t allow him in with me due to social distances measures. Pretty silly really as he’s only a little kid. I was hoping to teach him the value of doing something rewarding. I was told in a text message to come alone, but it wasn’t emphasised in the message that I would be refused if I did bring anyone. I assumed that it was only encouraged not to bring anyone, not actually compulsory. Even so, a little kid shouldn’t be of any issue. You’re allowed to bring your kid along wherever you go, even during a lockdown(there’s no lockdown atm)I understand it’s their rules, but they really need to explain things better.
Avoid lunch time appointments Booked a 1:15pm appointment to donate plasma, did not leave the building until 3:20pm. I waited an hour for consultation with a nurse. When asked about the delay she explained it had been a crazy day. Staff are friendly and grateful however it was a very frustrating experience considering I was advised it would take upto 1.5 hours, not 2 hours and 40 minutes.
Super lovely people who care about you and appreciate you as a donor. Best place to donate! :)
