5 stars for when they cancel Advocate Me (Serene Teffaha's) practicing certificate.

In 2009 The Victorian Ombudsman George Brouwer conducted an own motion report on The Victorian Legal Services Commissioner. He made 28 recommendations on how the organisation could improve. Unfortunately that report has been kept secret from the Victorian Public by the current Victorian Ombudsman. Mr Brouwer dedicated three pages to that report in his 2009 Annual report which focused on Transparency, Fairness, Accountability and Integrity.

I wish I had read these reviews before contacting the legal service board for assistance. In my experience and obviously many others, they don't advocate for you at all. The whole legal system needs a huge overhaul. There is such an imbalance of power between a lawyer and their client and no accountability for their conduct. If I could give zero stars I would.

Dont respond to emails and appear terrified of the very people they are supposed to regulate

Always good to deal with and courteous. Good use of automation to make things simpler.

Balance of power b/n lawyers woes and the genuine woes of those that have been ripped off/deceived by, hoodwinked: 'Fiona' (LSC) you can not be everything to every body, particularly when balance of power is tipped predominately in favour of the lawyers and whom are generally more educated, 'CLEVER' and far less vulnerable than their clients aka complainants: I suggest significant part of why the commission intrinsically exists, i.e. to protect those less fortunate and less able \u003e funding monies should be directed to genuinely helping those 'ripped off' by the legal profession; not the other-way around: 'Fiona', who pays your salary\u003e strongly suggest you re check your priorities and in the name of those (way) less fortunate or maybe you have become (way) too entrenched:failings only exacerbated by the Board's/Commission's lack of transparency and in some unfortunate instances, wayward 'transparency': LSBC toothless wonky tiger?

The LSC do not appear to be independent and support/facilitate the egregious, unethical and abhorrent behaviour of solicitors in this state. The LSC refuses to enforce costs agreement requirements by solicitors. Time to clear the swamp that is Victoria’s “LSC” and get an independent referee that supports the interests of the public rather than being a support system for solicitors! ZERO STARS.
