With all the theatre that we expected the night was a blast. Food was divine, absolutely perfect. Was told what I could order (!!) but I did love the choice. Waited two hours for our first bite.Never mind the bill, it will be more than you expect. Pity anyone who goes without being forewarned but overall I really enjoyed the experience and recommend you take a party or a book!

The owners are AWESOME. Both as mad as a bag of cats (or dogs in their case as they have about 6 of them!). My husband and I go to Le Goblet any chance we can and have never waited less than 4 hours to eat our meals but it is WORTH IT! The best french cuisine we have ever had. Sure their style of service is ridiculously unorthadox, but who cares? It is an experience to eat here and we love it.

It saddens me to see the best French restaurant in Sydney go. My wife and I have been enjoying the company of both wife and the delicious food by the husband for the last 5-7YEARS we had such unforgettable times and love and fun everytime we dine there. We feel like home everytime we dine there. We will remember you. Peter and Irene

Reminds me of a French version of Faulty Towers, with 1 exception. The food is nothing short of sensational. It takes ages for the meals to come out, the tables and chairs need replacing, service is slow, just a touch on the expensive side (not too bad). But we look for excuses to eat there, love it. Try the rainbow trout, superb.

Firstly ignore any 1 star reviews. Because you gotta understand what this place is about. So read below!! Firstly - The food is so amazing, it is worth me travelling fro Sydney up to Leura just for the food. The Scallops, Soup and Escargot are Entree's are so amazing. Then...go for the Cherry Duck for the main. The duck is de-boned, the duck is soft inside but crispy on the outside. Now you may think you have had the best french food made by so and so chef in the city - that is just whatever food compared to this place. Secondly - This place is great. Its a cross between Fawlty Towers and French Restaurant - the chef is funny and his wife is so funny as well. Don't expect 5 star luxury service. You come for the fun and enjoy the entertainment. I mean no bands, but she is the life of the restaurant. So enjoy! Those that give it 1 or 2 stars come expected to be offered luxury 5 star service - you wont get it. What you will get is a meal that is so amazing and entertainment from husband and wife - PLUS this is not a 30 minute shove down the throat joint, food takes a while to make and in traditional French style will take a few hours.

The food is terrific as long as you have what you are told you will like. Eating here will leave you with happy stories for a lifetime. And dont plan on a quick meal.

This Place is Awesome, sure the owners are at the top end of eccentric, but it takes a bit of craziness and lots of passion to create the finest French cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of eating, and i have been to France a number of times and have never had anything near as good as le Gobelet! if you do not feel welcome at le Gobelet, (as we were until very very late) there must be something wrong with you. a fully excellent restaurant, don't expect anything on time! don't have any other plans for the evening! Sit back relax and enjoy.

I made a booking on the phone and the staff confirmed my booking. At the time I arrived, the lady told me that the restaurant was not open. The reason for that is only because they had too much guests during the lunch time and don't want to open during the dinner time. The lady was really in bad manner, kept yelling at us" we are closed", they didn't call us to notify as well. We drove long way from Sydney to leura and got rejected, that's a shame.
