Horrible experience for my 9 year old son! After suffering a night of severe home-sickness and anxiety that kept him awake until 2pm, the staff/camp leaders called him to the teachers table at breakfast and as "punishment" made him clear the teachers plates in front of everyone, and wipe down all the tables by himself. Being shy, he didn't speak back or try to explain why, but just did as he was told and tried not to cry in front of everyone. He is so humiliated and emotionally traumatised that after returning home last night he was having night terrors and says he will never go on an excursion again. If you have anxious children, please do not send them to this camp. The camp leaders have no compassion. They aren't afraid to neglect their duty of care and breach child protection/welfare policies. Edit - Lake Keepit replied to my email today and had zero compassion. They implied that my son was somehow deserving, and yet denied any "punishment". Completely disappointed.
