Good for kids
The place is nice. Except for my 20 Marghetia pizza which came with mint instead of basil and there was no bocconconi as advertised. Mint is disgusting and does not pair with pizza. When I told them of this issue they did not offer me a refund.

It’s great to have a free campsite within a reasonable distance of Cradle Mountain (about 30 mins to the Visitor Centre). There were maybe half a dozen other campers there in late January, but there’s a ton of space so it wasn’t at all crowded. There are no facilities at the site, so that means no power and no toilets, but that works out fine when you’re not too far away from Cradle. My reception with Telstra was borderline unusable, so keep that in mind. It would probably be enough to send a text or make a short call if really necessary, but trying to use mobile data was painful, and I wouldn’t rely on it. The dirt road in is actually fairly long, but if you drive at a sensible speed a small 2WD should have no issues. Otherwise, it was a nice space, with a great little view out over the lake!
I love this camp ground, no amenities and usually quiet.
Beautiful location. Peaceful, pretty and in the middle of nature and the tasmanian wilderness. Not much in the way of amenities and the nearest shop is some distance. This is very much a self sufficient campsite, if you need anything, youll have to have brought it with you.
Beautiful spot by the river/lake
Quiet and peaceful, free camping site near a lake. Beautiful spot.
Beautiful and clean
Infested by European wasps that will sting without provocation. Spray up or keep away. Free camp, no loos so you need a toilet in your RV / caravan. Location is attractive visually.
