Interesting carvings, can be a bit difficult to find. Best to take GPS coordinates with you.

Its worth a look, if you are interested in mysteries, as I am. My vote would be a returned WW1 soldier (from the Giza camp) or unemployed or amateur Egyptologist who has gone bush and lived nearby for some time... about 90-100 years ago. They had a diary or book with enough in it to copy and make some sense out of what they were carving. There is far too much work here to be that of a casual prankster. And apparently the symbols make some sense which is awesome. But by the erosion and the fact that its not in a cave it can't be truly ancient.

The alternative theory to this place is that its the end point of the Egyptian civilisation that spread its influence across the planet. The theory is that the buildings / statues from Mexico, south America, easter Islands are all related and Australia was the end point of travellers from Egypt coming from across the ocean. An examination of the writing by experts concluded that the hieroglyphics being used are not quite right as the symbols being used are out of step with each other chronologically as the written language evolved. You'd expect the writings/ symbols to be chronologically in synch if written at the same time.

Nice bushwalk trail leading through the bush. Can be a bit difficult to find but totally worth it. Amazing tree at the foot of the glyphs. I honestly don't know if they are fake or not, but they seemed legit to me and regardless it was a great trip. Highly recommended!

Easy to find After you take left towards the bush, you'll find the big tree. Towards right if the tree there are two signs which says caution the boulder might fall something like that. Its in between those signs you will have to find the path easy but it will take time to figure it out

Was well worth the drive from Sydney. We found the place easy enough using Google maps just type "Gosford glyphs". I didn't really care if they were real or not, it was more for the sense of adventure of being on a quest to find them. Most of the path was dry but once you got to the Hieroglyphic trail some of the trail got muddy and wet so you had to tread lightly on the edge of the trail. Was an easy walk to the glyphs and only the slightest climb once you reach the rocky outcrop. There weres guys there already who pointed out where they were so that saved a lot of time.

Amazing and secret place where someone carved hieroglyphics into the rock in a crevice. It's hard to find and hard to access unless you are fit and wearing good shoes. There's no signage! Hi with someone who can show you the way or on a Sunday when there may be others around to guide you. The forest is stunningly beautiful and full of birds.
