Shout out to Terry and team at Ultra Tune Kangaroo Flat - I'm well impressed with their service, their communication and their transparency. RACV had me towed to their local partner MotaCare, who then took a week to misdiagnose a snapped camshaft for a blown head gasket, which they quoted at 5600(!) for repair. Being from Melbourne, with an immobile car in Bendigo, I was in a bind, and after calling around, Ultra Tune Kangaroo Flat saved me a lot of heart- and headache. Terry inquired about the circumstance of the break down and was immediately sceptical about the diagnosis by the 'competition' - as it turns out, rightfully so. A replacement engine was required. -New engine- is not something any customer wants to hear, but Terry was forever patient in explaining the how what and why of it. As lays, especially from afar, we never know if we are being taken for a ride. Mechanics have a rep for a reason, MotaCare up the road being a prime example. When I picked up the car, Ultra tune Kangaroo Flat took time out of their day, to show me the old engine, exactly where the camshaft had sheered, and the metal shavings that had made their way into the engine making it scrap instead of a candidate for reconditioning. I was offered the opportunity to source my own replacement engine if so desired, which I did. I was never pressured into going one way or the other, but rather, afforded a full picture of my options. Some friends were sceptical about going with a franchise, but I couldn't be more happy with my decision. Ultra Tune is Australia wide, their work has 12 months warranty, and I get 12 months of free roadside as well. It's fantastic peace of mind. If it's Terry at Ultra Tune Kangaroo Flat, they get my unreserved recommendation for going above and beyond. Great value, great service, great experience - 11/10.
