Even though I enjoyed the experience of dining here, I couldn't help but feel it out of place. Not sure if they were going for fine dining based on how each dish was presented, or casual dining based on the whole vibe of the place. The dishes were expensive and the wait times between dishes were long. It is delicious, but it is expensive. The service was great, staff was very friendly and really gave the place an authentic Japanese flair. Food standout was the chirashi albeit the serving could have been bigger. Pork skewers, skip the blue cheese dip, that thing was microwaved, not Japanese, and didn't taste great. Cocktails were good, just ask for their special.

Was meant to go to welcome to northcote but while walking past, thought this place was cute! They were booked out but we sat outside. They turned on the heater, gave us nice warm blankets and were mindful of asking us if we wanted Ice in our drinks in case it made us cold as we were outside. I appreciated the service so much and the young man that served us is a gem. The food was delicious and servings were 'quality over quantity'. We got the pickles, lotus chips, miso soup, two beers and two of the specials (swordfish and snapper) with rice. It was delicious, and came to about 100 which was reasonable in my opinion! We will be back.

My favorite local Japanese restaurant \u003c3 No doubt their Nanban Chicken Karaage don was the best! Now they have it in a bento version :) The other day I tried the Pork Belly Tonkatsu don and it is now my new favorite dish \u003c3 Crunchy outside and soft inside! It would be good to get more than six little pieces or, alternatively, a bit less rice.... But still very tasteful!

Tasty food and good service, but I would say the prices are a bit high for what you get. But they use a lot of authentic ingredients and it's rough out there for little niches like this right now. Would be interested to return for lunch.

Food is amazing here, but it is a bit small serve. Great variety of drinks to order, love the sake for sure.

Looks nice, but the tired adage of “Fully Booked Out” when the restaurant is empty, just doesn’t fly...

Excellent Japanese restaurant. Innovative menu, friendly staff, well priced dishes. Popular, so worth calling ahead for reservations
