Probably the best Japanese meal you will try in the longest time!! We dined here last night, as well as about a month ago, and every time we are astonished with the quality of food, presentation, friendly staff and the malt beer there. Sadly each time we've dined, I've completely forgotten to take any photos of the meals, because they look so deliciously delectable we all dive in immediately! But that's okay, because I would like to go back asap, and each time we've dined in, we get a stamp towards our loyalty card. Three more visits (5 total), and you get a reward!! The only criticism is the venue is small, so bookings fill up quite quickly, best to book in advance (and not the evening of, if you can help it), and the limited nights they were open - wish they would open more nights, and for longer too :D
Great tasting food, but a little disappointing after reading the hype. Bill shock for 2 small meals and an entre, plus an excessive, unexplained visa surcharge put a fizzer on my first experience here.
Perhaps our expectations were too high after rave reviews we've had from others, but this was average at best and the service, though friendly, was lacking. We had to ask for things we had ordered to be brought out a few times even though the place was not all that busy.
Outstanding venue. It's small with indoor/outdoor seating but staff are very happy and friendly, meals are fresh and of good size, and service is quick. Food prices are quite standard for Japanese meals though some drink prices may be a little steep.
Really nice Japanese food, with great service, but it is one of those noisy places that you can't hear yourself think.
Didn’t expect to find a place like this northern New South Wales - it’s an authentic Izakaya with excellent food. The staff were lovely, they made space for us when it was the only night we were able to go. I was hesitant to try the miso panna cotta but on their recommendation I tried it. It was delicious!
