I went there with my brother to renew his Medicare as he doesn't speak that much english. The service is quite friendly and helpful, however, a particular female staff for renewing Medicare card applications was rude, uncooperative and unapologetic. It's a shame as the other staff were attentive and nice, but the interaction with her ruined my day.

Very rude staff, poor customer service; incompetent and unapologetic. On Monday 29th April 2019 at 11:00 am I attended the Inala office to obtain a medicare card number for our newborn and transfer my wife on my card so that all we are all on the same card. I already had the application forms completed and signed by my wife and myself and all relevant ID only to be sent away and told that they are going into lunch and to come back the following morning at 8:30 am. On Tues 30th April I attended the same office at 8:30 am and I was sent away for the second time. I initially spoke to an officer Summer who was very rude and refused to check me in on the basis that my wife was not there with me even though the application forms were completed and signed by my wife and myself and had all the relevant ID. I then spoke to the team leader who told me she is not trained in medicare and just follows the advice of others. This is very frustrating and disappointing and I will lodge a formal complaint to the department as I had a similar experience in Feb 2018 when I attended the Inala office to register my first child and I was sent away and had to attend the Beenleigh office to receive service.
