The reception team were very professional and caring towards my questions and concerns - and I had many, but they remained very patient throughout. They gave me their time and advice when I asked about the services they provided even before seeing a specialist which was fantastic!! There was a small wait for an appointment - as you would expect for a highly sought after specialist but also not overly long at all - I was surprised with this. I have received incredible care ever since my first appointment and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Very thankful!!

(Sydney Spine & Pain) Quite an average experience. Admin was 'usually' fine to work with, if they knew what they were doing. Unnecessary Preliminary appointments with Doctors the patient wasn't even wanting to see, costing them around 600, just so they could see the doctor they initially wanted to book with (Dr Yu) and already had a referral for, no reasonable explanation given as to why. Ended up cancelling the following appointment (which initially the patient was told was not even scheduled, then eventually having it found in the system as expected), this was because the patient felt it was also going to be a considerable waste of time and money, as the first unnecessary appointment was. General feeling of being given the 'run-around', seemingly lacking knowledge in certain fields of medicine that they shouldn't have. The only good thing of the whole procedure was the Dr's ability to make the patient feel like they were sorry for them. Would definitely recommend alternative pain treatment clinics. Even if you had to travel to Melbourne. History: patient has had chronic pain for 10 years and dealt with numerous clinics, some great and some not as great. When they say they don't recommend this one at all you can assume it's credible.

I have been seeing Dr Yu for a couple of years. In this time I have had 3 x surgical procedures at Prince of Wales Private Hospital. I would just like to thank Dr Yu and his team for their excellent professional work. His whole team and the hospital staff are run off their feet but they are always kind and caring.Keep up the great work. Thank you

After reading some of the reviews ,it's clear some they are written in the heat of the moment. Everyone pain is different. I always found Dr Yu too be up front and honest. I've always found his team to be professional ,I ve just had my second radio frequency precedure. I also put in the hard work with rehab Pilates,physio pain management and working at the same time. I don't think any doctor can wave a magic wond and make the pain go away. Plenty of days I hated the cards I've been handled ,but won't keyboard warriors on those days I think his team deserve better than that , 10/10 from me and my journey has been a long one and I think the pain management is more about acceptance and hope. I glad he's on my team trying to get me as best as they can Thank you

I went to see Dr. James Yu for Spinal Cord Stimulation. I have been asked multiple questions from his personal assistance although I sent 50 pages of already answered questions. He Found 5 min to see me just to tell me that he put me on a rehabilitation program which lasts for seven hours a day for eight weeks. I wasn't ask I was just sent although I am walking with a stick. However after few calls I went there at the Spine & Pain management team and started the program. After 2 hours I was on the floor with indescribable pain in my lower back and left leg. I was just left there on the floor where they continued with the program ignoring me. That "Friendly Team" of " Medical Professionals didn't ask me if i need any help, pillow maybe or even water to take my medication.If anyone want to be humiliated and treated like an animal or less visit them. Everyone else find another solution.

I almost lost all hopes about being pain free again. Being a chronic pain patient over 20 years I never thought I will recover from it. Dr Yu and his support team deserve alot more recognition than these bad reviews i see on the internet. I was in for my first consult a week ago, and i was amazed at how busy they were; phone rang non-stop; at one point all 4 staffs were all on the phone. The business of this clinic alone really shows how well they have done. My consultation was sweet and straight forward, Dr Yu proposed a path of treatment plan and suggestion that I totally trust and agree in his extensive medical experience. Props to the team there, stay busy and keep up the good work!! Marco

I went to see Dr Yu for assistance with pain management. The only way to describe my experience is that I felt horribly judged and humiliated by his behaviour and attitude towards me during the consultation. For a doctor the lack of empathy and the patronising manner in which he dealt with me is surprising and incredibly disappointing. I left the consultation before it was finished. Overall an upsetting and bad experience.
