This is almost a secret GEM of a spot on the Gold Coast. Hats off to the Council for redeveloping this area. It’s such a relaxing place with many grassy areas for families to setup for a picnic, or where you could just rest in the sun to read a book or work on your tan. Even though you feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of Surfers, there are many areas where you can sit and watch the watercraft on the canals, and take in magnificent views of the Surfers skyline. The new amphitheatre area has a lovely sandstone path located directly behind the stage that takes you to the top of a small hill which gives you a fantastic view of the Surfers Skyline. You also have the man made lake which allows you to take a nice dip in the water for a refreshing swim. There are very good shower and toilet amenities located here, allowing you to take a shower after your swim. Farmers Markets happen here on a regular basis, and the area is now linked to Chevron Island via the new Green Bridge. Lastly, I cant wait for the new HOTA arts complex to be completed. Its design is hard to explain apart from that it is very eye catching, and the top deck of the building will offer unprecedented views of Surfers once completed.

Sunday market has a super selection of organic, mixed cuisine stalls. Great for local food shopping and family breakfast. Easy walk from surfers paradise. Once the gallery opens up look out, What a day out.

Went to the farmer's market which is held each Sunday. There were lots of stalls selling fresh veg. There were also plenty of hot food stalls and their goods can be consumed as you overlook the lake. Nice morning spent.

Love the cinemas here. They're nice and cosy, incredibly cheap and an interesting variety of films. I love coming to watch the international films here! They also have splendid markets on Sunday mornings and I'm looking forward to the gallery reopening!

Watching a concert or ballet under the stars is a surreal experience and one I highly recommend. The parking is frustrating due to the one way system, but otherwise it is an awesome venue. Events are well planned, staff super helpful and friendly. Movie houses are well appointed and sound is amazing.

This iconic spot is coming of age with so much on offer. Be sure to pop into the Cafe before or after a show.
