We ate here on our final day in Tasmania and I wish we had eaten here everyday. Food was just divine. Service was great, the place looked fancy but didn’t mind us being in shorts on a hot day. Lobster was excellent and we were provided with proper tools to get the meat out of the legs (something that was missing at another place we ate). Salmon was freaking amazing. Could eat that everyday. Croquettes were super tasty. We left feeling full but not uncomfortably stuffed which I put down to finally finding a seafood restaurant that didn’t fill us up on chips! Can’t wait to come back.

We have been coming here every time we visit Hobart since 2015. The quality of food has always been very high and table service has been excellent every time we have visited. Table service this year has been fantastic, especially since we have brought our little one here for the first time. However this year, front of house reservations has dropped the ball a bit. Firstly our booking of 7 on the first night was not done properly and recorded in the books. We were lucky to have a table when we arrived. On our second booking, we requested a window table but this was not available. However we were not told and it wasn't acknowledged until we reminded them on arrival. No apology was given. Over the years, we have had no complaints on the service here, so would like to think that this is a outlier for this year.
Very disappointed. Had high expectations which were seriously not lived up to. Cocktails at the bar first off were Bali Beach Bar level. Not really the main point of the restaurant but a bit of a indication of things to come. I’m not going to complain about the quality of the seafood. What we did manage to eat was fresh. But that’s it. Presentation was terrible. More school canteen than top four fish restaurant in Tasmania. Staff clearly didn’t know what they were doing. Unable to explain items on the very basic menu and unsure of how to lay out cutlery and plates on serving. I don’t think we were expecting 5 star silver service, but dumping the main course dishes down randonaly on the table rather than in front of the person who had ordered them is not acceptable. The main gripe for us was the lack of seafood being available from the menu. We had a booking for 7.45pm. Sat down at the table and were told there were no Oysters, no Lobster and none of a couple of the fish on the menu. These were the main items on the menu and they were not available. Unacceptable for a major seafood restaurant in Hobart. Overall, we have a feeling of it being amateur. Mures has a reputation as being a institution for seafood in Tasmania. Unfortunately our experience (and that of different diners as well that night from talking to them) was not that. Very disappointing.
Professional and very attentive service. The restaurant also offer the great local wine selection. Octopus and Squid were fabulous... Just avoid battered scallops with chips and mixed green leaves which looked and tasted like low league hotel pub dish...
This seafood restaurant was an awesome experience. Friendly staff & great waterfront views of the Hobart Pier. We had 3 entrees to begin with fresh oysters, grilled scallops and octopus that was soo yummy. My main dish was half of the lobster grilled with butter sauce served with large chips & salad. Definitely all the dishes we had so far was super delicious!
Great meal in a wonderful setting. Seafood was so fresh, bit rushed though.
Forgot to serve our mains. We were asked if we wanted desserts and we said no. And the waiter started clearing the table so we asked about our mains. The waiter only realised we never got our food and said the main was coming and waited another 20 mins before our food arrived. Longest wait time we have experienced at a seafood restaurant. Food was just okay. Fresh fish. Staff did not know what they are serving on menu. Total lack of understanding of the menu items.
Beautiful spot. Lovely service. Amazingly fresh seafood. Breads were nice. Don’t miss it if you like seafood and views. But do call to reserve a spot. It’s not easy to find a table with view.
