The beautiful smell of the shop reminds you of being in Germany.Such an amazing range of products and its often hard to decide what to buy....so much range.And the hot lunches you just have to try.(sausage and sauerkraut...onions on a fresh roll is what I love).If you can't travel to Europe now... you can experience a feel of it here.

The chilli cheese sausage is my favourite. Saturday mornings they have all of their sausages for sale in a giant skillet out the front of their shop. You get them in fresh baked rolls with onions and sauerkraut. So good! During the week they have a lunch bar and you can buy any of their sausages or cured meats to bring home as well as other German smallgoods. Great little shop. A total classic on Beaufort Street. Make sure you bring cash though as they're still CASH ONLY. There is an ATM on site if you need it.
Get your authentic German small goods here! Grab a bratwurst and sauerkraut roll for lunch. The sausage rolls are a favourite of mine: they actually have sausage meat in them! Great for lunch, but beware they are often busy in the middle of the day. So, you might be in for a wait. ....and be aware Elmars Highgate is closed on Mondays.

super yummy bratwurst in a crunchy roll with sauerkraut and onions for 6.5 awesome! the lady serving was super friendly also, she said good morning to me like 3 times because i walked up and down the street haha
Got some emu and kangaroo beeched wood smoked chorizo, delicious. Also large selection of German knackwurst, liverwurst. They also make lunch time rolls.
This place should be heritage listed. Great small goods and cold cuts but their sandwich game is a huge tip. On par if not better than the restore Conti's IMO, but it's not a competition... There's certainly room for more than one great sandwich in this town.
