I was mesmerised by the beautiful old buildings. If you listen really closely you can hear the sounds of the yesteryears gone by!... Really!.. no not really... but You can imagine how hard life was way back then in this remote area!

Interesting. Your unsealed 33Km. journey will require at least an AWD with lowered tyre pressures ;-)

Well laid out with plenty of information available, highly recommend a visit. Could spend hours here but the family like to keep moving.

Some of the oldest structures in the territory, well worth a visit.

Quite an intriguing place to visit. Worth doing some research first and also download the NP guide brochures. When we arrived at the entrance office all brochures were behind a locked shutter. Pretty poor to have the office open without access to the walking guides. No internet out there so u are on your own!!

Was an interesting place to walk around. You get a real sense of the time that has well and truly gone by....

First European settlement in Central Australia. This ghost town is full of history and beautiful walks. The environment around is quite harsh, not much vegetation. Best to visit during the cooler months of the year as it tends to get quite hot out there in summer. There is a little museum too which should be th first stop before exploring the area.

Very nice area, very interesting piece of history. Lovely old stone buildings, machinery and mines. Would have been great if you could get into a mine but definitely worth checking out for the amazing countryside and historical place it is.
