Probably one of the worst golfing experiences i have ever had. Two of us came down to play and were grouped with another two , which is understandable but nothing was said to either group about playing as a four ball and the other two were rather mad about this which completely ruined the atmosphere of the round. It took over five hours to finish as there was some very slow play going on and not a single course marshal or staff presence around the course at all. I then went to the driving range to hit some balls and a member of staff walked out across a full driving range completely oblivious to everyone practising forcing the entire range to wait for them to cross, this was honestly just bizarre i have never seen anything like it. When first getting my range balls i was told that the range closes at 5.30, however when returning to get a second bucket at 5 a second staff member informed me that the driving range was infact closed and when challenged about it made up some obscure closing times based on bucket sizes, this was the cherry on top. I am honestly gob smacked because this is actually a beautiful golf course but its being completely run into the ground by course mismanagement and frankly unhelpful and incompetent staff.

Prepare yourself for slow arrogant groups of players, and pro shop staff who are unwilling and ill equipped to manage a golf course in general. Certainly do not ask them to undertake any form of effective course martialling; they don't know how, and you will become the target of their abusive and arrogant behaviour. It speaks volumes that the council has declined to renew the pro shop lease.

Good public course. Tidy fairways and excellent greens. Not hitting the fairways will add numbers to your score. Clubhouse is dated but service is great

I always have a great time when I play at Hammo! Can't wait for the upgrade because it's gonna be even better! Very friendly staff! The guy always wearing a Callaway hat is such a cutie!
