It's not obvious how to gain access, needs better directions and signposting. You actually need to enter via the Goanna sculpture carpark and walk through. Hides are only half built, should be amazing after development has completed. Has promise

Well worth a visit at dusk to see the sun set and the birds come home to roost. Magical and unexpected.

Good spot for bird watching, ( remember to bring the insect repellent). 3 new 2 story hides are currently under construction, will be even better when finished)

A lovely spot to stop, stretch you legs and watch the wild birds be free in their natural environment. No toilet or picnic facilities tho.

Spectacular place if you want to see birds. Hundreds of teal and Pink-eared Duck. Often even the rare Freckled Duck mingles inconspicuously with them in smaller numbers. A Peregrine (falcon) perched on one of the dead trees and the White-bellied Sea-Eagle hunting tells you this is a special place for the birds. Beautiful and alive with the sounds of nature at dawn and dusk.

I actually stopped in at this place because it looked like a good place to stop and eat lunch. It is. But it's also an excellent wetlands where some really good photo ops can be found. Watch out the flies don't carry you away.

Apart from feeling like one is walking into a toilet block where someone is possibly shooting up, the birding experience is great, with many waterbird species, as well as raptors; Peregrine Falcons and White-bellied Sea Eagles nest in the area and are fun to watch.
