Good base if you want to spend some time in Hobart while caravanning. Fairly quiet considering, and very handy to the city. If staying on a weekend expect a noisy wake up early on a Sunday morning due to the market setting up. Most are respectfully quiet, although it only takes one to be loud and your up !

We used the RV Park for 7 nights, good showers and toilets very clean, our only issue is not enough power poles around, we had to buy another extension lead after falling short by 2M after placing our van right on the boarder line. Then power leads are running everywhere causing tripping hazards for pedestrians.
Powered camp-site and good facilities. Token showers. Lots of spots either grass or gravel.
Water & grey water facilities. Clean amenities.
A good place to baseyourself in the middle of Hobart. 35.00 per night. Power, water and sullage plus a dump point
Market is big, some interesting stuff. Lots of parking. Bought delicious carrot cake. An ATM there. Some sellers seem to think not having prices on their items makes for good service. If that is to measure buyer interest, i can say it just makes me walk away. Why should we have to ask?
Firstly, I am not a particularly picky person and am very happy 'roughing' it if need be. But my experience has me wanting to warn other travellors. Please read my comments in that vein. I was very dissapointed with the caravan/motor home park facilities at the Hobart Showgrounds. 3 site changes to ensure I had access to working power and accessible water (that I had paid for despite me having the longest food grade hose possible for water!). Be prepared to sacrifice quiet for a grassed area on the oval (I have dogs and main purpose to obtain camping accommodation in a motorhome as close to Hobart city). There's a major construction at the moment on the adjacent property and the oval abuts this and a very large Bunnings store that starts up reversing forklifts any time from 5:30am to 10pm and later The staff however were very accommodating and facilities were generally clean despite major maintenance required. But it would have been helpful to be upfront with the above to avoid hours of lost time setting up, dismantling and repeating again, etc. Pricing due to above, combined with aged/poor quality of the facilities is way over the top! I am staying on the coast having left a paid night earlier from the Showgrounds to at least have one pleasant evening in my week away. I have unbelievable modern facilities, well catering for dogs (including an off lead dog beach at my front door so to speak). And what's more, way below what I paid for at the Showgrounds! Only stay as a last resort uf you have to, otherwise avoid :(
