GAPLA is a non-profit association registered in Germany with head offices in Frankfurt and Sydney as well as offices in Wellington and Vienna. With over 120 members, GAPLA is represented in all major cities in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Austria. Our members represent many different facets of the legal profession; some are lawyers in private practice, while others are academics, work as in-house counsel or are just starting out. GAPLA promotes the exchange of ideas and information between its members and offers regular opportunities to meet colleagues from the other side of the world. Lawyers from New Zealand, the South Pacific Islands as well as other European Member States are also welcome. GAPLA holds two conferences annually; one in Australia, New Zealand or the South Pacific Islands and the other Europe. The conference topics are wide-ranging and particularly aimed at legal professionals interested in international legal issues. Every year many members also take part in in-depth seminars organised by our practice groups and local representatives. Our conferences and seminars provide members with the opportunity to share their experiences with other lawyers. The chance to meet and speak directly with more experienced members in a relaxed environment is especially valued by our younger colleagues. Regional meetings enable members to strengthen ties with GAPLA colleagues in a particular region. All GAPLA members are encouraged to suggest presenters and topics for our conferences and meetings and to actively participate in GAPLA. We welcome new members and warmly invite you to take part in our organisation.
