Our first experience with Centrelink today. We were very impressed with the speed and level of service we received in Geelong. In and out in 17 minutes and everything handles by a very helpful pleasant lady. Follow up phone call received within 10 minutes as promised, very impressed

I went in there mid January and was surprisingly served with my inquiry at the front desk, instead of having to wait. The lady who did my request was delightfully friendly, respectful and very efficient in her employed role.
I queued up for 20 minutes today to enquire a Medicare claim. There were three staff at the counter. About 8 people on the queue. When it was my turn. My request was turned down. The staff said that she could not did the search for me because there were eight people on the queue and the office will be closing down in 20 minutes ( it was 4:25 pm). I was asked to come back tomorrow morning or ring Medicare. I found that this service was unacceptable. I had wasted an hour to and forth to Medicare for this enquiry but was in vain.
Each time I have been in to the Centrelink office Geelong the staff have been amazing. Always pleasant and extremely helpful, apologetic for delays which are not their personal fault.
Impossible to navigate the prompts and actually talk to anyone form centerlink... Absolutely useless!
Waited 45 mins just to hand in a Medicare receipt and then had to walk out not getting it done because I had a hospital appointment... that was after asking the lady at the desk how long the wait was and her telling me 10 mins, but if it’s longer she can put through the claim.. perhaps she could have just done the claim then and there?
This company will help you out, but three years down the track there gonna start to send you countless letters asking you for all the money back that they paid you. Theives!!
