My girlfriend and I recently went in to Broadside as newbies asking about compound bows. The young guy there was very informative and helpful and didn't pressure me in to buying anything. He gave me a few bows to hold to see the differences and told me about other bows that are popular that he didn't have in stock. We have been back since and bought a basic recurve bow and arrows. Each time we have been he has been polite and helpful.

I rang this store recently to get some information on some arrows that I wanted. I spoke to a young bloke who helped me out a great deal. It turned out that I was way off base with what I was ordering. Being relatively new to the archery game I didn’t have much of an idea. The shop cut my arrows for me and they were in the post the next day. They arrived within a couple of days. I was very happy with the service.
Where to start? Went in to ask some simple questions as a beginner to archery. Was spoken to like I was an idiot and not worthy of the guys time. (Rory) The tone he used was belittling and arrogant. He saw nothing wrong with using some colourful language and muttering comments under his breath. He mocked me and forced his opinions on me and put mine down and had no problem telling me I'm wrong. He didn't bother to even show me any products. He seemed completely disinterested in helping. I must have been wasting his time. Perhaps he didn't want my money. Well that's ok, because I will spend my money elsewhere and will highly recommend people NOT go there. I've never seen such bad customer service. And RUDE! He clearly does not belong in a customer service role. We left after only a few minutes because we were gob smacked at how we were being spoken to. Or should I say, spoken AT! After reading all the other negative reviews I can see that I'm not the only one to have encountered this idiot. They, too, seem to have had the same terrible experience. Perhaps we caught him on a bad day…but he must have a lot of them. Good luck with your "business" treating paying customers like that! DO NOT RECOMMEND!
I had a good experience, got to try out a few different bows on a target in store. I have a long draw length but the guys were helpful looking at some options. They gave me honest advice all without any pressure to buy. Thanks
I'm sure they know about archery, but their customer could do with some improvement. And if a bow is going to take a few months to deliver: just say so. Don't make something up to try and cover the delay; or if you are going to make something up, at least stick to the same story.
Extremely poor service and staff. Instead of helping you with your problem or answering your questions, they will lecture you and slander your choices. Young guy at the counter was helpful at times, taller guy with long hair, doing most of the tech stuff, Rude rude rude. We are there to spend money and get help. you would think they would bend over backwards to help, not put you down and lecture you. This is a very bad business. If Canberra was to get a larger Archery store with great helpful staff, they would get great business !
i wouldnt bother with giving these guys your service, went in for a few questions, got treated like i was some sort of moron, was ready to by a bow there and than ask about fitting instead of fitting me they lectured me on what i was told saying it all wrong. what ever happened to friendly service
