My experience couldn’t have been better. Delivered my baby here in 2017 and the nurses were amazing. All midwifes that I met throughout my journey of being ftm were really sweet, encouraging and supportive. Best place to give birth at and lest I forget the food here is unlike any hospital, it tasty and there is a huge menu to chose from. They are generous with the ordering and the desserts are unbelievable.

We have come here twice now and I have to say we are pleased in general. The facilities are great, with state of the art equipments. The doctor we had was probably exceptional. The attention to detail and focus could not be faulted. There are also areas the hospital could improve on. We noticed all the Male doctors tend to walk in on the mum without knocking the door, even tho she might be breast feeding.

Our one star review is for Midwife Veronica. We called the buzzer for help with settling our newborn. Veronica stormed in and removed our baby from our room WITHOUT CONSENT. Her further remarks were rude, abrupt and very condescending. When escalated to Unit Manager Gabrielle, she was kind enough to hear me out. She asked for my email address to keep me updated on this case. I did not hear anything for a week so followed up. Gabrielle assured me of disciplinary action for her staff accordingly. Gabrielle had offered a formal apology from Ramsay Health however we have yet to hear anything.

After going with the Royal Women's Hospital for our firstborn, we decided to try its private option, Frances Perry House, for our second. Every interaction we had with the hospital was virtually flawless. When you pay more for a private experience, you really notice the difference. When it came to being admitted, we were shown our birthing suite. It was spacious, clean and afforded us privacy without feeling like we were cut off from the rest of the world. Once bub was born, I was offered the option of staying with my wife and the newborn in our own room, something which isn't possible in the public system. Unlike the RWH, Frances Perry has better doctor and midwife ratios. They physically have fewer rooms and therefore can take fewer patients. I believe there were 25-30 rooms from memory. While you're there, you can take advantage of complementary breast pumps and a nursery, which is great to send your newborn off to so that you and the missus can catch up on some sleep. And the food... for me, it was a highlight. It tasted nothing like hospital food. You get a menu to fill in and hand back to the hospital staff. The food arrives on time. Honestly, it's better than some hotel food. One of the few criticisms we had for the hospital was that during the labour, the mother-to-be wasn't allowed to eat. The midwives stated that this was to avoid vomiting. Our question here is how do you push a baby out if your tank is empty? After staying for four nights, we were sad to go. With a new baby in tow, we headed home, knowing that we had just experienced one of the best maternity hospitals in Melbourne, if not in Australia.

I have experienced surgery in 3 well known hospitals in Melbourne, and the standard of service in France Perry Hospital was clearly superior. Thanks to the wonderful nurses and staff that work there, who provide knowledge, empathy and wonderful care to their patients. Something that you cannot put a price on it!

Had both my children at Frances Perry, the most recent earlier this year during the first wave of Covid, and can't speak highly enough of the care received. Every single member of the team was informative, caring and attentive. So much so that we would have happily stayed for longer! The room and food were also great. Would happily recommend to anyone.
