I loved the vibe of Crowbar and it was a great venue for metal bands. Had been wanting to see Envenomed play for some time now and this venue was so easy to get to being close to Fortitude Valley station. Pity the bar was out of the Tarot wine that night though
Had a great night out with friends at The Crowbar in the Valley... downstairs in the dungeon was the KORN Tribute show "Life is Peachy", frickin sweet cover band, very good. Would recommend seeing them. Pics are from a phone, so not the best but hey, better than none ;)
Great place to grab a bourbon ( jacks ) in the valley entertainment precinct. It's a heavy metal / rock vibe with booths and tables to chill with friends or sit at the long bar. Friendly staff good management. live bands playing downstairs several nights a week. Good fun place to spend the night out, start the night or end it. Love it there
Very alternative. Had a good night watching a mates band. It was a little quiet but it was a Thursday after all
Can't comment on the ground floor space apart from saying it looked nice. Downstairs stage / bar set up is a bit average with the stage for live bands tucked away in the corner with not much frontage for the audience and all on one level so you don't get to see much. Sound system is pretty though. Would hate to think what would happen if you needed to get out in a hurry.....
This place is home. Quite simply. Home. I can't think of another place where the staff go simply to hang out. I've thought about this too much, why have I always felt, welcomed, appreciated, here? Why have I always felt like I mattered here? I think it comes back to my opening line. Crowbar is home. It's the place where those in Cattle decapitation shirts aren't questioned. Where Punk lovers aren't looked down on. In a way Crowbar is like a cross between the statute of liberty and the black parade. Give me your broken, beaten and damned. We will give them a place in the world that makes them feel.... Home.....
