Shane from Exa Web solutions in Melb calling on behalf of - David John to come and meet regarding a certain product He wanted the boss. Even after politely questioning him he was evading direct answers. His said his job was just to set up appointments basically. ( he refuse to just say, we want to set up a website and kept trying to get our web addresses, and to be put thru, ignoring all I had to say). I explained we have just had an overhaul of our website and do not need his services. My boss and IT department will never set up appointments to meet someone they have no intention of doing business with, it WASTES their time. After 16 working here, I am more aware of my employers business wants then some random caller. He was told to put us on their do not call list. (several times) Which I guarantee he will ignore and call again.. He is calling from a private number which for a cold caller is illegal. I was told as I am just the receptionist I am unable to make that decision and it’s up to the managing director to make it. I told him I am paid by the managing director to keep people like you away from him. He didn't like that. He kept talking over the top of me until I ended up saying I’m hanging up do not call again.. He called BACK to say I needed to be more professional.. I said no worries and hung up on him again. Thank you for yet another pain in the neck cold caller. Using illegal practices like refusing to end a call. Using a private number. No direct answer to being asked to put us on their do not call list. Talking over the top of me when asking for his details etc, phone, company details. I repeat he stated he was from the Melb office and I realize this is the Brisbane office. According to their website. A bad review is not the end of the world so I'm not surprised they use this methods when cold calling
