EcoHome did a great job installing underfloor insulation for me. It has made a noticeably difference to the temperature of the house. When the ducted heating comes on in the evening the house stays warmer and the heating is on less than it used to be when set to maintain a specific temperature. Overall, I am very happy with the thermal improvements underfloor insulation has made to the house.

During August last year, EcoHomes installed underfloor insulation for my 3 bedroom house in Ringwood. Trevor could install insulation under the bedrooms before another covid 2 lockdown started. Worried why we consume 30/40 kWh units per day, I was keeping an eye on our daily consumption via ausnet my home energy app. I was startled how meter readings dropped since day after only half the house was insulated. Encouraged by the impact of underfloor insulation, I asked Trevor to insulate the rest the house. I am certain underfloor insulation was the only factor for lower usage with nothing else changing. Especially for an older property like mine on stumps, or any house, underfloor insulation makes it warmer in winter cooler in summer with lower bills. I highly recommend underfloor insulation. Trevor was great to work with. He is an honest tradesmen who delivers!
Working in the design industry I am a bit better informed on insulation than the average so did a LOT of research before I chose EcoHome. The attention to detail, knowledge of insulation products and service scope was excellent. Not disappointed. Had old and it turned out very full hot water unit removed from roof, vacuumed out 75 years of old insulation and dead rodents, insulated to R5 and had under floor insulation fitted. The under floor needed to be installed between the floor and the heating ducting. Very happy with the results. We do not have Aircon and over summer were able to achieve a consistent inside temp of 26 when outside was 31. This is our first Autumn (April review) and it's fantastic - we use gas heating and usually heat to a modest 18 to 20 with the unit cycling on and off continuously to maintain this. So far we are finding the heating cycles are about 1/4 they usually are with the overnight unheated temp remains above 16 - used to fall below 12. Daytime when heating has timed off, holding at 18 for the full day. If you have older home not on a slab then the underfloor heating will be one of the best investments you can make. Unexpected bonus is the dampening of plumbing pipe noise roof and floor and sound of the heating unit (which in our case is under the floor) is reduced markedly. Trevor also arranged for covers over some down lights and a roof fan which has reduced heat leakage. EcoHome were not the cheapest but service was excellent, everything left clean and tidy and the advice provided was spot on. Highly recommend and no, I'm not a relative.
Underfloor insulation: From our first meeting with Trevor to the last one where he came to inspect the work of his team and answered a couple of questions we had, he was very professional, courteous and polite. Trevor's team were thorough and very diligent. They cleaned up after they finished and went above and beyond to tie up some loose ducts under the floor. No shortcuts from these guys. Would highly recommend Trevor and his team.
