Deserves 0 stars. Same experience as other reviews. Pretends to be large company but it's just one guy. Failed to identify 1500 worth of repairs and wouldn't provide refund. Wouldn't respond to Fair Trading after making complaint. Fine print says all vehicles should be checked by a mechanic's workshop! Don't waste your 240.

I am really pleased to have been recommended Road Check Services when I recently purchased a late model Subaru in Sydney. I had seen a review by Alan Jones a few years ago and my Teacher's Credit Union had highly recommended them as well. They contacted the seller and arranged the Inspection and confirmed it within 10 minutes. I was out of Sydney at the time, so I was happy to see things arranged quickly and professionally over the phone. The inspection was completed within a few hours on the same day and they rung me directly from the location. I needed this inspection to be arranged and completed promptly as it was being sold on an ebay auction and I needed it to be done asap and before the auction ended. The vehicle had a number of quite important issues that Road Check identified. There was some suspension wear problems, an oil leak and a problem turbo issue which Rod Check bought to my attention, but we sorted this out in the price which worked well for me. The actual inspection took 1.5 hours and the people at Road Check I found to be very courteous and professional. I was pleasantly surprised to also receive approx 30 photos taken throughout the Subaru emailed to me along with a very comprehensive report. The other services I contacted could not provide service the same day, and many just didn't return my messages. The NRMA also recommended Road Check Services. Their mobile service was shut down a few years ago evidently they told me. As a single parent, with not much time on my hands, and with limited understanding of mechanical things, I found the service was worth far more than their fee and I would recommend them to anyone purchasing a second hand car. My mechanic who serviced the vehicle later confirmed that I had made the correct choice with Road Check as well. So I'm delighted to share this recommendation.

*PLEASE BEWARE* I organised Road Check to do a mobile pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle I was wanting to purchase. I received what looked like a comprehensive report on the vehicle, and so I purchased it. After taking it to my local mechanic for a service, I found that the car needed new front shocks - A problem that the Road Check inspector should have EASILY noticed. My mechanic couldn't comprehend how they missed it. The Road Check inspector should have at least felt the problem with the shocks when he test drove it at 60 km/hr. It is so obvious, the car bounces all over the place. New front shocks cost from 800 - 1000 and had I known about the problem, I wouldn't have purchased the car. Road Check tell you in the fine print that the car should also be checked in a mechanic's workshop, however, this issue is so easy to spot, even with the constraints of doing an on-site inspection AND test drive. It leads me to believe they are not qualified mechanics and/or are lazy about their work. It has totally defeated the purpose of paying 250 for a pre-purchase inspection by failing to conduct their service adequately. A refund or explanation (besides "vehicles should be checked in a mechanic's workshop") was not provided. I feel ripped off and have been left very out of pocket. I hope this review encourages you to take your business elsewhere. Regardless of their claims, these guys clearly don't know cars. Don't risk it!

Avoid this person at all costs. Had a pre inspection done, car came up well so I bought the car. 8500 of missed faults came up now I own the car, some real basic some more complex some that would not even allow car to be registered. Asked for a refund just of inspection. NO HELP AT ALL AVOIDED ALL REPSONSIBILITY

Warren Wichman lives on far South Coast and cannot get to the locality then charges you when he turns up late and blames the seller . No refunds. His web site makes out he is some big company but he is one man working out of an old Magna eith no insurance. Avoid at all costs as he will rip you off. No refunds and debits you card twice as a mistake.

Don't use these guys. I had a very bad experience! I had a pre-purchase vehicle inspection carried about by these guys. Turns out they missed some major problems, which two mechanics later confirmed. Ended up costing me nearly 2000. Road Check refused to admit they had done anything wrong, refused to cover the costs of their oversight, despite eventually admitting they only spent about 15mins actually looking at the car (instead of the hour they claim they normally do.) From my experience it appears they show no care and take responsibility for what they do. My advice - Do not use these guys!
