Great and fresh sushi. The staff are quite friendly and quickly got us seated. There's a wide variety of food on the menu here, and all taste quite good.

This restaurant is one of the few that has been consistently 5 stars for the 30 or so years it's been going. The Teriyaki chicken is so good that they will run out. You must book ahead, even on a Tuesday night. On a side note Japanese cuisine is normally about rice. In sushi, it is the rice that one is eating with extras like salmon. It is would you like salmon with your rice as opposed to rice with your salmon. With this in mind Hukuya is about cabbage. They put it with almost every meal and it is amazing just how well it goes. Hukuya is a labour of love and respect that they choose to share with you.
Great quality of food! I ordered the tempura roll and you can really taste the freshness. Both of us loved the yellow sauce they used on each sushi plates. Service was lovely, constantly asking if we were okay yet was the appropriate amount. Although, the decor is a bit outdated!
Always fresh sashimi and sushi. One of the best in terms of quality and quantity. Only get one hour during busy hours but feel it is fair...
I absolutely love this place, and consistently revisit every month. There's no better sushi in this area and it is well priced. It may look like nothing special from the outside but it is such a lovely hidden gem for the level of quality in food and service. Night times will be busy, so do try to get in early or book. They do have specials (lunch and dinner set is about 18-20), so depending on how hungry you are, it is likely spend 20-35pp.
Such great sushi and sashimi here, our fav is the deluxe combination sushi with salmon belly worth adding on! Recommended that you book especially for dinner on any night.
