Wonderful place to stay at & go diving. Beautiful caves, walls, abundance of sea life. Will definitely come back!

Me and a friend did the Discover Scuba Diving experience with the team at Eaglehawk Dive Center. It was a whole day experience. They have a pool on-site where they show beginners how to use the dive equipment and communicate underwater, before taking you off to the dive locations. I felt confident, my friend was a little nervous but the team were patient and supportive... Some really friendly, warm-hearted and down to earth folks. We went to one dive location just near the jetty because it was quite windy and the swell caused isn’t good for beginners... But we saw some amazing and beautiful things down there. It truly is a different world, and the sensation of being and breathing underwater is impossible to describe. The team took good care of us, the wetsuits and equipment all worked fine and when we got back to the center, after a delicious hot shower, we were treated to tea and cake (it was my friend’s birthday). The team are very knowledgeable — a lot of marine science, research and conservation is conducted from the Eaglehawk Dive Center. One of the instructors took pictures for us and sent them to our phones before we left. All in all, it was a personable and unique experience. They also have a friendly cat, curious alpacas and chickens with free-range eggs for sale. I do recommend if you ever find yourself in Tassie!

The wetsuits for hire here look like something you would find at a garage sale or curbside on hard rubbish day. Purchased a snorkel package and never received gloves, there were holes in the wetsuit shoulders and when I tried to discuss the matter on return staff member 'mick' was rude and abrupt. The staff wernt very knowledgeable or helpful at all. Would not waste my time here again

The existence of places like this is why google should allow a zero star review. The equipment was old and worn out and should have been thrown out years ago. The customer service was beyond abhorrent. When I politely asked for a refund due to the pasta strainer of a wetsuit they supplied me, I was berated by a man named Mick who has clearly never been taught respect or human decency. It all made for one of the worst experience I’ve had in the water and out. The staff, the lack of professionalism, the terrible gear... do yourself a favour and take a wide berth from this sorry excuse for a “dive centre”.

Don't understand why all these complaints about gear and all? Gear was just fine! It's rental gear no different than the one you would get in any other dive centre. None of the wetsuits I saw or that othe other divers had are a pasta strainer so I find those comments too exagerated. My gear was just fine and kept me warm throughout the the dives. The people at the shop made sure I had all I needed and that all thr gear fit well -they helped and recommended me at all times. Dives were great and staff nice!

This place is as bad as it gets. The dive gear is completely worn out and should be binned. You’re better off diving in your sluggos. Even worse than the gear is the customer service. Not a nice experience at all. Don’t go near this place.
