Drove an hour to the Campbellfield depot after booking a collection to find that they didn't have my parcel ready for collection so I have to now come back again and hope they'll have it ready the next time. I had spoken with a customer service representative the day before and she was completely disinterested in assisting me with a monotone voice and kept going silent, so I had to keep asking if she was still there.

Received a ‘sorry we missed you’ in my letter box. After three days I called to arrange redelivery and was told they had left two cards over two different days - both of which are either side of the date on the card I received! Sent package back to sender, refuses to help me. I let them know my experience as a customer - to which a manager replied “you’re not our customer, the person that sent the package to you is...”. When businesses forget all the customers in their ecosystems because they think the party that isn’t paying for the service doesn’t matter, they need to realise it gets back to their ‘paying’ customer and soon they will look for another business that actually cares about the people receiving the package - because that is their customers customer... it matters! I do not recommend anyone use this service as the end customer receiving the package is having less than ideal experiences and it reflects poorly on the business sending the products.

Very unimpressed with the service I received today. Delivery driver knocked on the door extremely insistently and then asked me to help him unload the delivery from the truck because it was heavy. The customer, in this case a 30 year old female with a shoulder injury, should not have to help the delivery driver unload the shipment. If the package is too heavy there should be a second delivery person or lift and trolley equipment to allow the delivery driver to do their job properly and safely. With my assistance the driver then carried the package up to the doorstep and left, leaving it up to me to haul the package over the front step and into the house. I've given two stars because the package did arrive when they said it would.

Direct Freight Express (DFE) was scheduled to deliver on a Thursday, they claimed a delivery attempt on Friday (I was home all day, no delivery happened), they said they left a card (no card was left), then there was no contact until Tuesday, when kind estate agent came to me and told me that DFE had left my parcels on his doorstep, 6 blocks away! Fortunately, no one stole the parcels while they were resting on the front porch of the empty house.
Posting this review from the point of view of a customer of Direct's. We send out around 2-3 pallets every day with Direct Freight and out of all the freight providers, Direct stand head and shoulders above the rest. Their rates are fantastic, drivers are punctual and freight is delivered on time and in good condition 99% of the time. On the odd occasion where we have problems with an incorrect address, damaged goods etc. they have clear and fast communication and rectify issues very quickly for us.
Failed to meet their own 'delivered by' date. Only confirmed this when I actively contacted them. Customer service operators very nice, but poor actual delivery service.
