The braised beef soup is sensational, such yummy flavours. The squid tentacles, oh my god, so delicious even if a bit oily. Loved the refreshing iced TW tea. Why haven't I tried this place sooner

A nice first impression for a taste of Taiwan. We decided to check out Diner 1 after having a craving for Taiwanese small eats, and we were so glad we did. The place was small and tucked away in a side street, and the small interior was full with a group booking taking up all 5-6 tables. However, the owner/manager was accommodating enough to fit us in before the group vacated a table for us later. The restaurant has been around since 2013 but the current owner took over 2 years ago. We tried several of their recommended dishes, including cold noodles, Taiwanese braised beef noodle & Taiwanese style noodle dry finished with two bubble teas. My wife said it took her back to our holiday in Taiwan so the verdict is good enough for a return visit.

Very tiny little place but if you are looking for some fine Taiwanese food, please come here and try it out. The food are not bad overall. I enjoyed my food every time I come here to order.

Small cozy dining area. Service was friendly and our group of 7 got our food quickly. Loved the food (I had the fried chicken pieces rice & fried squid tentacles).

Our go-to-place if I am craving for braised beef noodle soup. For 12.50 you get a generous serving (I always share with my now husband). The fried chicken pieces are good as well. Their selection of cold teas (for me) are way better compared to most taiwanese tea shops (contains lesser sugar than most). We came across this cozy Taiwanese eatery about 2 years ago, have been back a handful of times and have never been disappointed!

small little place with limited seats. But the food is great. famous taiwanese dishes served. menu has a good variety. chicken cutlet, fried tofu, fried mushrooms and the Taiwan sausage rice are all good. although the portion of the rice dish could be more for the price. drinks wise, yakult green tea and their milk tea are great. they have a variety of drinks available. Staff is friendly and service is good. Would recommend.

Excellent customer service. Generous food portions for both rice and noodle dishes. Flavored pickled vegetable is crunchy.
