Coming from Melbourne, I was looking for a good restaurant to eat in Canberra and discovered The East Kitchen. The lady was very friendly and nice to us. We had a great conversation and service was excellent. No need to mention how the food was. Big portion, value for money, very tasty and delicious. We really enjoyed the dinner there. They were about to close but they waited for us until we finished eating. Will definitely go back to the restaurant when we come to Canberra again. Continue prospering in the business, you deserve it..️

Really good food, will definitely be back. Be prepared for a wait as food freshly cooked and it’s a brother and sister only operation. However that wasn’t a problem for us and we appreciated the food even more when it did arrive. Try the silver thread loaf -so good!

Love this place, the produce and flavours are always so fresh and high quality - you can taste the care and effort that goes into every dish. Absolutely delicious pork buns, and the best prawns you'll get anywhere. Update - The silver thread loaf in chili flavour is a must try, it's the most delicious street style food you will ever eat and so flavoursome - make sure they show you how to eat it though! Try a weeknight as it can get busy on weekends

Always great food, with special desserts rivalling some of the best cafes around. Personally love the beef with ginger and shallots. Juicy and absolutely not chewy, with the smoky taste of wok hei.

The food was really delicious and good value for money as the serving sizes are large. Only drawback was the waiting time on Saturday night was more than half an hour - too long for our family's liking especially with a baby. @fooderarri

Do not misguided by the appearance of this place. It's the flavor that I tasted long long time ago and I love it. The only thing you need to worry it's the waiting time might be a bit long. If you patient enough, the food won't let you disappointed.

Absolutely phenomenal! The service was so incredibly personalised, it's the best customer experience I've had in Canberra. You can tell there is genuine pride taken in the food, and more importantly pride, care and love taken in the family tradition underpinning the food. I can't speak highly enough of this sister/brother run restaurant, and more people should give it an opportunity! I'll be back again in no time!

I really don't understand why more people don't visit this place. The food is fresh and absolutely beautiful. Best food I have tasted in a long time arriving in Canberra. The people are so sweet who own it. Give it a go you won't regret it.
