Don’t know what everyone is on about, but we found Louise polite and helpful. Check in was super efficient and no-nonsense. The cabins are very clean and tidy; beds are comfy; kitchen has enough good quality equipment to prepare any gourmet meal; the fire place also gave it a cozy feel. The free wifi is poor, but we had our own mobile coverage so didn’t really bother us. The Hungry Wombat next door makes good coffee. Lake St Clair has lots of great walks too. Louise also kindly offered to post some jackets we stupidly forgot in the closet. All in all a very pleasant stay.

What a great place to stay! Booking online very easy as too with check in once we got here. Easy secure parking right outside our accommodation. The rooms are very functional and well thought out, lots of little things that make your stay that much nicer, such as hooks to hang your jackets in your room, torch and fire extinguishers in case of emergency. You hope you never need them but glad that they are there. Great system for a continental breakfast, there a very few options for meals in Derwent Bridge area! My wife and I stayed here, the room itself was very clean and tidy, immaculate actually. Great water pressure, lots of hot water and a great shower head, this last part my sound silly, but to have to nice long hot shower with a decent shower head just makes your stay! Having heating lamps in the bathroom was also a very nice touch on a chilly night! We found the bed comfortable and pillows very satisfactory. Plenty of heating in the room! When I first walked in I thought the floor was a vinyl and it would be cold to walk on, actually it is a soft furry vinyl that is nice under foot, again nice on the chilly night! Kitchen has a microwave, small cook top, kettle and the like. All the things you need for very basic cooking. Locally there is a pub, that does take away alcohol and also meals at night. There is also a café, but is shuts at 5pm sharp. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back again. Oh, almost forgot, love how these units are all separated from each other…no hearing your neighbor snoring!
The person who met us at reception was rude, dreadful in people skills. Such a bad example for Tassie tourism. She tried to increase the cost of the booking, citing age of our children, although booking had been online. We walked out and booked into at the nearby pub, where the hosts were great.
The reception lady, Louise is really rude and not being helpful. I wanted to cancel my bookings but she's just wouldn't process my request. She even hang up my phone when I followed up my request. I'm seriously thinking whether I should take this to the Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Tasmania.
Comfortable and very clean, would definately stay here again.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS ACCOMMODATION. The female manager is rude and disrespectful and ripped us off for a totally unjustified cleaning fee of 50 and a 5 charge for theft of a nonexistent road map.
Poor attitude from person I tried to book with Ubrupt not a real Tasmanian attitude as I’m a Tasmanian trying to support business in these difficult times they obviously don’t need business so good luck
If there was a way to put 0 stars, I would. The challets are fine, clean and comfortable. The lady proprietor is a COMPLETE HAG! I brought a group here. I was so ashamed of how she treated us that I will never ever stay here again. It was aweful! Oh and she also writes your credit card information down so that she can randomly charge you various amounts without receipts provided upon request. Don't stay here. Stay at the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel. They are nice people.
