Great drive, very scenic, well worth a look, quite interesting, there is a camping area with a couple of different zones, it’s all gated with a ranger to pay for your camp site & able to buy firewood as well. Dam water level was down when I was there.

Great camping and picnic area. Good drive in though the rain forest, you will need a 4x4 when its wet. Bring a paddle craft and get up into some of the amazing back creeks. Keep an eye open for the 1000s sundew plants on the dam banks.

Lovely camping spot. Bbq and toilet facilities. Dam to get redclaw if your lucky.

Probably worth the drive up there ( if you've got nothing better to do). Walk to the end of the dam wall and you'll see an overflow that's a miniature version of burdekin falls dam. The track to this dam is a tad rugged , you'll notice this when passing other vehicles that seem to enjoy showering your vehicle with stones . Personally I'd use a 4WD for this trip but incredulously I've seen plenty of vehicles better suited for the highway on this track. The dirt track starts after you've taken a right turn off the asphalt road that runs through paluma.
