This restaurant is set away from the bustling area of Crows Nest (just down the road from it) but that doesn't stop the popularity of the place! We arrived to a fully booked restaurant as we were in the area looking for a place to eat. The host (who turned out to be one of the owners) let us dine on their counter style seating. However, we weren't too fussed about this. Service was very good and food didn't take too long to come out. The host was nice enough to move us into a table once one became free. The food is very good! We ordered the spicy edamame, chicken karaage, pork katsu, pork gyōza, miso eggplant, hiroshimiyaki, rainbow sushi roll, soft shell crab roll, unagi nigiri, aburi nigiri and miso grilled cod. I loved all of them except I think there is room to improve with their pork katsu and gyoza. One of the staff overheard us mention my wife's birthday while we were just talking with each other, lo and behold, about 5-6 staff came out with a surprise mochi ice-cream and sang happy birthday to her. I honestly have never seen such great customer service in Sydney (a 10/10). Will definitely be coming back! The host came and had a long chat with us when the restaurant was nearing closing time, he is very nice and easy going. Good luck with your restaurant!

Nice and calm atmosphere, delicious food, good service and clean toilets. My kids really enjoyed the pork katsu and gyoza. The Hiroshimayaki was a rare find in Sydney. We will definitely be back. Next time we want to try their sashimi.
Lovely place run by lovely people, we were here a few weeks ago for my little sisters birthday. We didn't have a booking because our dad had just had heart surgery and we only decided to go out to celebrate spontaneously. The staff were very accomodating and the food was really very nice. The only thing I didn't like was the pork but everything else was amazing the grilled eel was my favourite. Will post photos later, hopefully this restaurant makes it out of this tough time for everyone because it's a gem.
A hidden gem. The rice in the nigiri is still warm and sashimi are very fresh, even for the baby rolls. Very friendly and attentive service. Great place for all kinds of occasions. Yum yum
I was invited to @japanallstarsrestaurant 's soft launch in Crows Nest Their sashimi is highlight of the night!! Very fresh!! It's actually more premium than the kaiseki experience I had last night. Highly recommended ️ We also ordered a number of other dishes such as their special Hiroshimayaki, it's like okonomiyaki but Hiroshima style. New experience
Not many Japanese restaurants in Sydney serves okonomiya and if they do, it is usually disappointing. Japan All Star serves one of the better if not the best okonomiya. If you have carvings for okonomiyaki, then head to Japan All Stars. The other dishes we had was great but is the same you get in other authentic Japanese restaurants. We will definitely return to Japan All Stars when we have okonomiya carvings.
Great Japanese Restaurant! The assorted sashimi looks amazing and it's very fresh. The eggplant is yummy, and their signature dish Hiroshimayaki is a must try!!! Service is friendly.
Sashimi is incredibly fresh and well presented. Try the hiroshimayaki - just like the okonomiyaki in Hiroshima! Brings me back to my holiday in Japan. Keep up the great food!
