Good for kids
Free campsite, but warm in summer but great for winter and those cooler days. Plenty of trails to follow either by motor bike or mountain bike. Some spectacular views all around with the many lookout spots which have picnic areas. It dust get very dusty when it has not rained for some time so try stay off the main roads if you were to camp like the pines.

Nice quite campsite. We pulled our camper trailer here, plenty of space to park up. Road getting in isnt too bad. Great place to relax. No facilities here.
Large open sloping grassed area with several tent locations and old campfires. No tables or benches and a tank with no water. There are a couple of garbage bins.
Smaller, less popular campground with no toilet or water nearby meant a quieter stay. Most of the flat areas were near the dusty roads, though we found a reasonable spot and stayed 4 nights taking short walks in different directions. One of these was about 3km along a part of the Great Northern Walk from the campground towards two amazing lookouts. Another day we found lovely flowers and enjoyed the bird calls. The weather was very cold - check before coming. Also, unless you have a 4wd, the best way in and out is via Martinsville Rd. We made it up Heaton Rd but would not have liked to go back down that way!
This major stop of point along the Great North Walk is walking distance of several major lookouts and picnic areas. Also the only toilet block for miles around.
#free campsite - good for overnight camp during traveling - should have off road camper trailer so at certain section into the forest camp - no toilet facilities but fires alowed
You dont see this every day.
Great place nice and central to some good tracks
