I have read the reviews of all rental companies in Alice Springs and it is a mixed bag. I was worried about renting with any of them but my experience with branch manager Naomi @Europcar, she definitely went beyond my expectations to help me out on arrival and later on when I was back home. She understands right from wrong and while she knows you will likely not return to Alice Springs anytime soon, she will treat you as a loyal customer and do what is right. Highly recommend Europcar in Alice Springs just for that.

Awful! On pick up they charged me an extra 100 as bond, on drop off I asked about them and I was told it was freeze and I will have access to it in 2 or 3 days. After a week without the bond being release, I sent an email concerned the procedure was diferent for debit cards and they hadn't noticed, I received an obviously copy-paste answer thay the money charged to my credit card (they hadn't even read my mail!) was in my bank account pending to be released, I called, they told me to speak with me bank. My bank said nothing is pending or being hold and no amount was going to be release, I called again they told me to contact customer support by mail, the answer from customer suport: the same copy-paste answer as before! I replied and a month later I still hadn't received my bond. I'm far from pleased.

DO NOT USE this company! They are purely dishonest and they set up a system to legally steal from you. They apply extra surcharges after certain KMs and intentionally hide them from you. I payed 180AUD for the car thinking it was a good deal and then I was charged for additional 340AUD. I explained the situation to the customer service and they said that there was no chance for a refund. Do not use this company and don't let anyone you know use it either.

Check your card after returning vehicle to make sure payment is correct, record your kilometres before and after the trip. Lucky thing I did becuase I was charged for over 1000kms extra resulting in a several hundred dollar overpayment. If I hadn't taken a photo before and after they would have got away with it. Refunding took several days, phone calls and several emails. Excuse was "they got the number plate wrong". Considering all cars would have greatly different spedometer readings, I cannot belive that. A subtle scam it most definitely is. Beware

Great staff at reception, but the company itself is dodgy. They put in hidden "surcharges" which apply to other slighly hidden fees, so the whole quote is a sham, you can't pick it in advance, because it's illogically laid out, then they charge your card whatever they can get away with, and don't send you an itemised invoice unless you hassle them. Then they don't refund. Do NOT give your credit card number to these sharks.

Avoid them! The tarif that they "force" you to sign while picking up the car DOES NOT agree with the booking confirmation that you have received by email. I say "force" because the staff make you sign the contract saying that they'll deal with the tarif issue when you return the car. However, they never did even they have promised while getting the key back. You just get invoiced much more than what you are supposed to, in spite of complaining the problem to their customer service!
