The Stables is such a beautiful venue, perfect for a romantic dinner. The service is friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and attentive. The food was a 4 course degustation menu and was well thought out and perfect in size that we were fulfilled but not rolling out. Amazing fresh food with beautiful flavours and to look at. Wine was too notch too. Highly recommended for a beautiful dinner and romantic escape

A rustic venue that keeps it simple. The flavours were complex, yet the ingredients simple and locally sourced. We chose the 3 course Summer Lunch Menu. We had been there before a while ago for dinner and knew we were getting our money’s worth when we chose the menu. The quantities were just right! Not minimal wanting more and not too much that we had to skip desert. The staff were friendly, professional, courteous and wasn’t rushed. They knew the menu items in detail. They took time to explain the various dishes, kept the glasses full and remembered all our drink order to refills. Choosing Stones for a special occasion will definitely not disappoint! Looking forward to going there again!
Living with someone who has a very sensitive pallet makes going out for a meal very difficult. Often go home discussing how we could have had more, better and for less at home. This was not the case at The Stables. From the moment we turned off St Hubert’s Rd onto the avenue of Oak trees, we were somewhere else. Venue was rustic, without being tacky. Staff were friendly and professional, without being overbearing. Bree, our waitress did a marvellous job of making us feel welcome, introducing the dishes and contributing to a wonderful day. I want to thank Nadia for recommending such a wonderful venue, understanding and identifying something perfect for our celebration. Special shout out to the team in the kitchen. Thank you.

Exceptional quiet, romantic ambiance. Had the tasting menu and everything was amazing.
An opportunistic bunch over at The Stones. They'll promise you a booking at their hero restaurant "the Stables" only to thoroughly disappoint you when you arrive and be told that you'll be dining at their not so good restaurant "Meletos". All the worse when they make this type of mistake on your mothers 60th birthday. Funnily enough, friends experienced a similar problem last weekend! In the end, don't risk a special occasion on The Stones. Instead, try one of the many better places in the Yarra Valley that provide great food backed by great service.
Lovely space,. Great access to vineyards and gardens. Meal was ok, 6/10. Food was not value for money.
