I have been attending Dr Buchanan’s clinic now for 13 years. He has been an excellent medical professional in the treatment of my ear issues. He is supportive, informative and very knowledgeable. He has given me excellent advice and has given me confidence in carrying on with my day to day living. I actually look forward to seeing him. He is a very friendly person who is concerned about me as a person, not just treating my medical complaint. I have to say Dr Buchanan is at the top of his field.

Dr Buchanan seems friendly however the major let down which someone had mentioned before in a review was the office staff! I have spoken to a couple people there and they all seem quite short, rude, unfriendly and not empathetic. I would suggest that some of the staff should move on if they are unhappy and don't like dealing with patients! I would not come here again due to the service and treatment by the office staff.
Before going in, I was quite anxious. The service I received was professional, friendly and reassuring. Highly recommend!
If I could give this ENT a zero star, I would! I consulted him about my ear itchiness problem only was advised to do a MRI Scan and a CT scan, which didn't help to detect my otis externa. I have been informed by a doctor, with an ENT qualification that the best method to confirm otis externa is to do an ear swab, which Dr Buchanan failed to suggest to me... That's correct,! This doctor has been assisting me with my ear infection and we did an ear swab, sent to dorevitch and they found out that I have otis externa caused by Candida. I was even told that it was a middle ear problem because my Eustachian tube and even had the grommet, which didn't help. Also, upon further reading, otis externa can also cause a feeling or pressure problem. I even wrote a review a while ago but feel warranted to write another review to warn others about this incompetent ENT. During my consultation, I also did not see any ear toileting equipment at all and I had to pay him so much money!
We took our 4 1/2 year old to him for persistent snoring. Dr Buchanan seems to know his stuff - he worked out what was going on quickly and didn't push us toward unnecessary surgery or medication, which we appreciated. But his manner didn't gel well with us. He came across as loud and dominant which isn't ideal for young children. I myself quite appreciate directness so I wasn't worried. But I think your experience of Dr Buchanan may vary depending on the type of person you are and how you like to communicate. Based on one appointment I cant fault his competence.
Patient, friendly and professional, highly recommended
In my experience, Dr. Buchanan has been a very professional, helpful and competent otolaryngologist. From 2017 onwards I have intermittently suffered from otisis externa and he has done a spectacular job in helping me eradicate it. When I was a child, he also removed me adenoids with great competence and his "No rubbing your nose" has always resonated well with me!
