Our experience at the City Recital Hall was very enjoyable. The orchestra was amazing, incorporating a story for the audience to follow. The music was wonderful, so much 'energy' being absorbed by the musicians...a beautiful way to spend a couple of hours

Great theatre, fantastic location with lots of bars and restaurants within a few.mins walk. Very close to Wynyard station and a tram stop within 50m. The sound is great and seating layout allows everyone to be close to the action.

Was there for the 20th anniversary and the free tour of the back of house was great. Even better was the evening performance ‘We Are Twenty’ - what a treat! The acoustics were amazing and the curator, Megan Washington, did a great job getting Topology and Electric Fields with her in an unforgettable one off performance. If you even want to hear music without background audience noise, this is the place

This must be the worst designed theatre in Australia. While the auditorium is ok with great acoustics, there are thousands of people walking across each other try to get out. The carpark took 20 minutes to park and over an hour to get out. My seat in row z was narrow, harder Than sitting on a timber floor and every time that i moved it banged loudly on the rear wall. The staff took ages with every single ticket. If you go here be prepared to queue for the lift, drinks, cloak, entry, oh God, the queues!

Covid stuff was very inefficiently done, they lied about the bar, we couldn't make out what was being said on the P. A. They made us queue on the right instead of the left to get the lift up. We were then told to get in a lift that was going down. Signs said that bars were open on each level. This was a lie, there were no staff on level 3. The PA was so static filed that we could not make anything out.
