3.1 - I remembered the Earl Grey tea to be really delicious but when I had it, it wasn't so. The pearls were a good texture and service was acceptable. They need to have menus that aren't just the back of the wall cos it's so hard to see that I had to pull out the menu on my phone. They made it fairly quick.

Chatime has since changed their menu back to having both the original menu and the Chatime Purple menu. The owners and workers are noticeably much happier and the shop seems to be swamped once again. I'm delighted to see the menu back to its original state and have continued to spend a ridiculous amount on tea each week.. No regrets. Staff are very lovely and Chatime is a great local favourite, 5/5 stars.

Just bought two peach green teas and one green apple green tea. I saw the girl making the drinks make the tea and fill each cup two thirds - normally (at other places) they fill the rest with tea. She didn’t, she filled the rest with regular tap water. Result? 21 tap water. It was so watered down. Clearly saving on costs. If I had tried it on the spot, I would have demanded a refund. UPDATE: the store manager contacted me to say that CHATIME fruit teas are always topped up with water. 100 ml tea in regular and 150ml in large - the rest is topped up with water. This must be a new rule because I never tasted such disappointingly weak and tasteless teas before - like those “water with fruit flavour” drinks. Luckily they have a lot of competition and I will go somewhere else.

Macquarie Centre Chatime has recently decided to make a questionable choice in trialing what they call "Chatime Purple". For a roughly 20% increase in price (7.95 vs 6.55 for a Choc Milk Tea), you have the "honour" of a very limited menu and extremely lackluster drinks, paired with an increased wait time. My partner and I have been regulars to this Chatime for quite a while, really enjoying the simplicity of their menu and ability to fine tune teas to be what we want. We were very surprised when the store suddenly closed with no notice for over a week and reopened having completely ruined the simplicity we loved. It seems they are trying to cater to some imagined "hip market" with their "designer teas". It's very disappointing. As mentioned, the wait time has increased exponentially, when it wasn't the fastest prior to this change. On to the actual teas: in an effort not to judge to quickly, my partner and I gave the new tea a go, and found it extremely lacking. Where their old formula teas were sweet, tasty, and refreshing, the new teas are now sour, harsh, and (for the "John Lemon" especially) actually make you thirstier. Their new menu has a "selection" of a measly THREE (3) fruit teas, down from their old amazing selection of many. The "John Lemon" has a whole lemon in the cup, making it extremely sour, and also cutting down on the actual amount of tea you get, a theme I noticed between many of the drinks (including things inside to cut down on the liquid). Overall, I'm very much hoping this is just a trial, and that the business owners listen to reason in this regard. It is a much worsened system, owing to a lessened degree of flexibility and lackluster tea flavours and selection. As long as Macquarie Centre Chatime is running under "Chatime Purple" my partner and I will have no reason to go there (or any other chatime, considering this was the only one around), and will have to take our business somewhere else (Sharetea maybe?).

Love how quick the service was and the drink was still really yummy. Normally have to wait really long for a chatime drink but this store was very quick. The staff was friendly too.

Visited Chatime at Macquarie yesterday (25 Sep) at its peak hours. Staff were quick and friendly. Wait time was reasonable even though it had been busy for quite some time. Someone came to complain about the wait for a while but at least the staff stayed focused and continued making the drinks as fast as possible. Probably need at least 4 people on shift for even faster turnover (and less complaints).

Lines are long and custard is expensive! I now order online, sometimes 3 minutes late! At least it tastes decent

I went into this store hoping to get my usual peach green tea with grape jelly and pearls. Unfortunately, to my disappointment I had come to learn that the whole menu had changed. None of the drinks on the new menu appealed to me however, I did end up choosing the Fruit Fight! There was hardly any 'tea' as majority of the cup was filled with unnecessary large pieces of fruit. I also did add my usual grape jelly and ALSO to my disappointment I wasn't able to reach those either. This new menu is VERY limiting and the old menu is a lot better. I really hope Macquarie Chatime read their reviews as there 2 other people that agree with me. I can't even imagine the others who haven't had the chance to write a review.
