This company advertised cheque cashing as part of their range of services and when I called they did inform me it was dependant on a number of factors & I would have to go in store, which I did later that day. I presented them with a cheque from a well known Centerbury Business as I required immediate cash. After providing the staff with all the relevant documentation, explaining the situation and waiting 15-20 mins for them to decide. They refused to cash the cheque without explanation. I understand this is a very risky business for these people however they did no research RE the cheque issuer, they made no phone calls to verify and most astonishingly, they could not provide me with the reason they wouldn't cash it. As mentioned, I understand the risk these companies undertake however I would assume they would have specific criteria and protocols which determine whether or not to proceed, the staff merely said "I don't feel comfortable" while the other said it was as I didn't have an ABN (not mentioned on their website). If unable to offer a service, do not advertise that you do!
