Oh no. Looks like the business has changed hands. It is a pity as this was the best in town. New EFTPOS setup. Staff claims it is "the same owner just different management" (?) Less range. Prawns looked old, waxy skin, no longer displayed on a bed of ice. Great selection of discount fish-heads. Something smells fishy......

Gabby was so helpful and took the time to explain how to eat an oyster properly. I've been doing it so wrong, that's why they didn't do anything g for me. Fresh, fresh, fresh seafood. The best

Every time i go to Carmel's Seafood to purchase either crabs or fish, the smell of fresh seafood is very noticeable in the area where the seafoods are on display, as soon as i enter. Took my wife there recently and she remarked how the clean fresh smell of seafood was very noticeable as soon as she entered. The complaint, "it smells too fishy" in my opinion had never been explained correctly, as the smell of very fresh seafood outweighs the "it smells too fishy" term, which i think can be partly blamed to odours caused by stale/old fish blood in display areas, combined with seafood products that are not that fresh, possibly caused by the slow rotation/selling factor. I've noticed that Gabby and the French girl are always willing to assist their customers with their purchases, and go the "extra mile" to assist them, so when i go there, we know the seafood is of the best quality, including the service. I've lived in Darwin since 1950, and always had access to fresh seafood; crabs, fish etc, catching them with friends and family. As the body is too worn out now, my alternative is to purchadse fresh seafood from places like Carmel's Seafood, as i'm used to only having the best.

Fresh wild caught seafood. Good choice.
