Halcyon Window

Went in today to fix a set of sunnies and buy new day wear frames. I was spoken to rudely and treated like a second class human even tho I was wanting to buy new glasses and spend a decent amount of Money. I asked for help, was told to sort myself out by the assistant, no one else was in the store. The clerk just wouldn’t leave the counter area. I was told my sunglasses could not be fixed and would likely break if she tried as she tried to mash the arm into the frame and use it to bend the metal back rather then using a tool, I asked for them back. Apparently they couldn’t order me the same frames again even tho I was happy to pay ect. They are common standard wayfarer ray bans, I was told to order them myself online and they didn’t have any in the warehouse even tho the lady didn’t check the computer. I feel I was unfairly judged and treated poorly due to my appearance (dreads, tattoos, dark clothing,- I was cleanly dressed and have a friendly attitude) I promptly went to another glasses store, “Pino and Sun” In Belconnen, was served nicely and promptly, my broken frames were fixed Properly and with out issue and I was offered to order a brand new set of the frame if they couldn’t be fixed and was also helped with buying two new sets of day wear frames. Won’t be coming back to this place again. Every other time I have come here I have been served kindly and helped with advice and picking out new frames, where did those nice clerks go?

Such a pleasant experience. Knowledgeable and incredibly helpful staff, above and beyond anything you'd expect. I've been going there for years and have never had anything less than five star service. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend this store.

Cannot thank Vinay enough for helping one of my staff. The employee had busted glasses and went to her local optometrist and was told it would be 2 weeks before her new glasses arrived. But the glasses she had were broken in the middle and she had a strength that you cannot use generic cheap glasses for to see her through the interim. Optical Superstore in Ainslie Place Canberra were friendly and helpful. They have a glass grinder if you require just a frame. Vinay found a frame and put the employee's lenses in there and she can now use these glasses until her new ones arrive. I would highly recommend Optical Superstore for service and variety.
