Been going there for years every time we go to Canberra. Always great food! Very consistent! Highly recommend.

We came upon this restaurant on Saturday night, after arriving from Melbourne tired and hungry, and every restaurants in Kingston Foreshore was fully booked. Sammy's Kitchen was the only one that has a table for us. However, minimum spent was 30 per head. We were too tired and hungry so we went in. We ordered boneless chicken curry, stringy beans with belachan sauce, Mongolian beef, steam barramundi, nasi goreng and fried banana fritter tand drinks to meet the 30 per head. The steam barramundi was delicious, curry chicken was yummy and beef was tender. Everything was nice.
Worst experience ever. Bad service, food even worst. Don't waste your time and money
Quick service and nice food. Large menu, reasonably priced.
The food was good and brought out fast, service was pretty abrupt, ambience was ok. Reasonably priced for the location.
Centrally located at the street level of the Canberra Centre, Sammy's is an old Canberra favourite for Chinese cuisine. Dishes are consistently great with a good balance of flavours and texture. Authentic with modern decor and atmosphere. Friendly no nonsense type of service.
Absolutely shocking. The cooking is not the same as it was several years ago. The vegetable laksa I ordered had weird vegetables in it and very little tofu. Taste was not good. My friends who had ordered other dishes which were pretty ordinary. I will not go there again.
Extremely rude lady boss who was not happy because we didn’t ‘order enough’. I’ve never had an experience like this anywhere in Australia. Disagree that it is the best in ACT. There are many Malaysian/Chinese restaurants now in Canberra that are just as good if not better. Just not worth the experience if they are going to spoil your night out. I’ll just go somewhere else.
